Subban: Montreal Canadiens Defenseman May Be Traded This Offseason, Report Says CTV's Brian Wilde told TSN 690 that "there's a 50/50 chance" Subban is traded by July. TSN's Bob McKenzie first reported the rumor. Subban has played for the Canadiens since his rookie year in 2009. Wilde on TSN 690: Subban on the block http://www.tsn.ca/radio/montreal-690/wilde-pk-subban-on-the-trading-block-1.466942 "Tony Marinaro and CTV's Brian Wilde both believe PK Subban is on the trading block before July for the Canadiens." i would trade our high draft pick and edler or hamhuis for p.k.... p.k and jordan on the same line? what do you guys think? Mathew Barzal
If he is even remotely availabile no one is beating Edmonton's offer. They'll offer their first and a couple of big pluses for him.
ftmN
I don't see it happening, but I will invite a big trade. Oilers for sure will trade for him if they win the lottery.

That's actually an interesting idea. I'd simply assumed that any trade offer we could make would have to start with Bo, and Edmonton would easily outbid any package we could put together. If, however, the Habs wanted to replace some of the defensive hole they would create, and we could somehow trick them into accepting a package built around Edler...could we somehow beat a package the Oilers would make?!! Nicklas Bo Hunter
i'd say Edmonton would offer RNH+ or Eberle+ they would not trade Mattews. Mybe the 2nd overall if they had it.

Green Building
PK isn't going anywhere. If he does, we are certainly not in a position to acquire him. The suggested offer of a top 5 pick and Edler would easily be beaten by another team. Easily. We don't have the assets, and we can't afford to lose what we do have. Also, Hamhuis is value-less in a trade since he's hitting UFA. JB can sign and trade him if he wants to be a douchebag toward Hammer, but that still won't get you PK. Baer.
Hard too imagine a deal involving one of the league's premier defenseman. Just doesn't happen.
SedinMadness
we would have the best chance at him! I bet you pk would love to come to vancouver and reunite with his brother!

Ghostsof1915
Watch them trade Subban for Eberle, RHN, Nurse, and Edmonton's first rounder this year. Montreal gets #2 pick and lucks out with #3. And drafts both Puljujarvi and Laine.
Warhippy
IF!!!! There is any chance that PK is available. The Oilers and Leafs are currently the best bets for landing spots. If either of them win the lottery a 1-1 (+ due to contract terms) is logical but looking even further it allows them leverage over Arizona should they try to send Matthews home as there is little if anything worth trading the 1st overall for. Arizona would then be faced with the fact that for the low low price of a #1 D man + a pick give or take Matthews could be on the move. A potential bidding war for the 1st overall would be very fun to watch

Possibly more like Edmonton= 1st overall, Yakupov Montreal= Subban, 2nd round top prospect (future pick consideration in 2017 1st-3rd round) I'd debate the idea of Edmonton doing a pick swap for this year but I couldn't see Montreal only moving up X amount of spots while at the same time I couldn't see Edmonton trading a 1st overall, a former 1st overall, Eberle AND their top D prospect for simply Subban
VIC_CITY
Just for fun, Edler + McCann + 1st in 2017. Not sure if that would be enough? I'd be willing to throw in an extra B prospect or mid round pick if it made the difference. Fair? Subban is exactly what we need but you have to wonder if we'd be better off keeping our assets and going the UFA route?
