No question it's a toss up between White and Beach,  Schroeder might be a close 3rd though.

Let's check the other 11.7 threads and see what the consensus is

I'd go Schroeder, but only if Boeser signs. Other than that, consensus pick in thread 8.2 is White. So, you're right.

Yup. 8.2 through 11.6 got locked and deleted.

Between Stealth, Deb and that "top button guy from the A-team", I couldn't tell who was more frustrated.

That was the day Elvis had a stroke

1. Matthews

2. Puljujarvi

3. Laine

Some scouts say that Matthews is a generational talent. Maybe a notch below McDavid in most areas but a bit better shooter (Sakic like) according to Crow. That's too high of a ceiling to pass up on

If we are not getting Matthews, then the way we are going to beat the Alberta teams in the future and to compete against the California teams is by playing heavy game that can smother the Alberta's offence and go toe-to-toe with heavy California teams. Puljujarvi seems to be the type of heavy player that can help going in that direction.

Laine according to some has Ovechkin ceiling... I find that hard to believe... But if that were true, we should definitely pick him ahead of Puljujarvi. But one concern is that he is just Ovechkin light. In that case, we don't even have any playmaking center in the system, for example Backstrom, to set him up. Capitals have amazing talent surrounding Ovechkin. Without the high end talent, that team has no chance of getting past the 2nd round as it has been in the past 10 years since Ovechkin draft. Unfortunately, this team does not have that talent.

At the end of the day, if we pick in the top 3, it doesn't matter who we pick. They are all going to be great according JB.
