Who do you devote your first goal?

I devote it to my parents and my firts trainer. I  am sure that they  watched and now they are happy. For me it’s like a mini-achievement.

You have already played 12 matches in NHL.

It was difficult in the first 3-4 games. I needed to get into the rhythm. Then it got better as I understood how everything works in a team. In general I am satisfied with my play. I try to improve my English every day. I communicate with my teammates, learn new words, learn English with the help of English books in the evenings.

You scored the first point in the first match. Sedin Brothers tried to give you a puck, but you didn’t know what to do with it.

This situation was the following. Brothers swapped passes and then scored. That my assist would not be counted. Sedin brothers told me “Take the puck”. I answered “Why do I need it?”. After the game I entered the locker room and saw a puck with the sign “first assist”. I was so excited that I scored the first point in NHL.

Do you compete with another Vancouver defender Andrew Pedan? He hasn’t scored yet in NHL.

We don’t really compete. We do our job and that is all. Moreover, our team didn’t win.

 @ Why do I need it?

Can't wait to see this guy next year after a full summer of [hopefully] heavy conditioning.

Glad he was able to have his contract sorted out and was slotted into the lineup before the end of the season so he could get a little taste of the NHL pace.

Canucks should hire an English tutor for Tryamkin. To make sure that he practices English. Back to school Nikita.

Speaking English and getting along with teammates will help build chemistry, which would result in improved team play.

I totally read this in a Russian accent  I have a feeling his English is a bit better than he lets on, but that he doesn't yet feel confident/comfortable speaking it to the media just yet. His smirks at Pedan during the media availability today lead me to believe his translator isn't the best. We need to send this guy some language tapes, stat!

Good to see that he is dedicated to improving his game to make an impact in the NHL. This guy has to work extra hard due to the language barrier, which speaks volumes of his character and his will to be a bonafide NHL player.

It's impressive to see how much better he got after the first few games. Can't wait to see what he can do with a good off-season of training.

I was able to snatch up Tryamkin and Boeser in my dynasty keeper league midway through the season, really like what I've seen from Tryamkin so far.

Obviously he's not the greatest skater in the world compared to other players, but if you compare him to other huge defensemen, his skating is far better than most of them, lot of them tend to be pylons ie; Hal Gill, Douglas Murray, even Chara was awful to watch in his early 20's.

If Tryamkin never develops into a PPQB for us with a booming shot from the point, would love to see Willie put him in front of the net on the pp, would give the opposing goalies absolute fits along with the defenders haha.

Yeah, he has very good coordination for such a big guy. It's a good sign.

Hi, I have translated the interview with Nikita Tryamkin. And i would like to know your feedback.

Canuck fans obviously enjoy the short interview.  The use of language is clear enough and understandable but not written by a native English speaker.  Is that the sort of feedback that you would like?

I have the same theory about the translator. Tryamkin's answers did not always seem to address the question very well. I am guessing that the translator is not translating either the questions or the answers very well. She looks nice but I am guessing she does not really understand hockey very well.

He probably understands English better than he can speak it right now.

So stoked for this guy, he really looks solid.

Thanks for translating the interview. (was "from_Russia_with_love" not available?) Copy the text into your post next time, please, I'm lazy. But again, thanks, especially because I can't speak Russian.

Contrary to what I've seen people post about him: I've actually been surprised at his foot speed, for a big dude his first three are pretty quick, and when he is a step behind his reach is, well, long.

Stoked on this guy, stoked on the way he really loves the crease, doesn't like getting too far from it or letting opponents close to it. As he develops and starts to really use his size... Okay, maybe I'm going Homer .. but I'm wicked excited for this guy.

I am glad we got to see him before end of the season. In my eyes he was just a name a player I pain no attention to but watching him play I wish I looked into his Russian games a little more he is a great player that this team needs and like Hutton and horvat is still very young with lots of room to grow. I know probably not going to be the top guys in the future if things go right with the nucks but these are guys you need in your core moving forward. I hope the guy stays in the nhl at least for several seasons so we know what he can become as a player. Definitely on my watch list for young Canucks.

His stick checking was causing fits for opposing forwards..there were a few icings but there also many pokes checks where he slid the puck out of the zone. a real treat to watch...and calm under fire you know teams are going to be studying his tapes all summer.
