Surrey or Pitt meadows! City job!

Hey guys, So i just finished having interviews at both cities this past week for job employment in the operations department. They both want to hire me now... I've done a tone of research on both cities but I still can't seem to figure out which one to choose. They are both roughly 6 months + out of the year. Pay is also the same. Has anyone worked for either city in the past or know people who do? They seem like both great cities to work for...

For me it would depend on where I live. Bridge bill would be $7.20 a day aka $1728 a year.

Might want to do it based off that alone.

Very good point! I live in Port Coquitlam. I didn't even think of that.

That should be your pretty clear answer then.

I'm from Surrey, it's actually pretty safe

I've lived by Surrey and spent loads of time in Surrey for almost 40 years.

Shockingly, I've never been shot at

People act like the entire place is like Compton with Bloods and Crips on every street corner or something

Like any city it has it's 'bad' areas (largely the Northwest 'Whalley' and somewhat Newton areas) but I'd sure as hell rather spend time in South Surrey, Crescent beach, Port Kells, Sullivan Station etc than questionable parts of Richmond, Burnaby, Vancouver etc.

All the cities in Greater Van have far more in common than differences IMO. And they all have largely targeted gang violence.

Surrey's biggest problem is that it's an utterly trashy cultural wasteland full of douchebags, the crime thing is just a bonus.

Not going to single out a predominantly minority area for this. The entire Lower Mainland is a cultural wasteland. Vancouverites need to get off the high horse.
