Sedins

We all know that the Sedins have been scoring and point leaders with the Canucks for a while now. However when was the last time we had a player like a *Naslund* a *Bertuzzi* a *Linden* to match and surpass those scoring and point totals in a season ??? We have not had players like this also for a while now. With that said, when you have two players that are so predictable on the ice weather it be on a 5-5 or on the powerplay, they are just predictable and every team knows there playing style and that hurts the team everytime they are on the ice. I have counted multiple times the last two seasons with Henrik behind the net trying to find Daniel in front with a pass, I have seen them multiple times playing against the boards over and over and over again playing keep away instead of working the zone better, and they are not the strongest, do not hit, nor try and stay away from getting hit up against the boards so when you have someone from the opponents team that will hit them against the boards or out muscle them constantly when Henrik is behind the net and looking for that pass, it happens more often then not that the puck gets intercepted by the other team and when you are 200 feet away from the other teams net a 5 on 5 can quickly turn on to a 3 on 2 or even a 2 on 1. And we all have seen this too multiple times. Now the point to all this is that, I believe Henrik and Daniel would be better off either A* not on the same line - because maybe Daniel will play faster, smarter and stronger and Henrik will hustle more, shoot more and the whole team will get better quality chances - or - B* Canucks say good bye to them and do exactly what they said they wanted to do. Build the team around the young players, find the next core, sign players between the 20 & 28 year old age. Develop them into the next franchise that fans want to see, because the Canucks will not win a Stanley Cup with Daniel/Henrik around, and I believe it will take even longer if we dont start focusing on the young players and give them the ice time they deserve and build up the chemistry between them and the other rookies. If you are a team that has faith in young players and if your going to develop the team with young players this is the time to do it, because with the Veterans around that will sound retire in 3 to 5 years, if they are still with the team, the rookies may miss out to shine and be productive and may never get the quality chance they deserved in the NHL due to vets sticking around with the team. Its time for the New faces of the Vancouver Canucks, and that time is now

While I think you should work on your "paragraphs" I must say I have been saying something similar for a while.

My point is they seem almost pre-programmed now and even if one sees an opening that doesn't involve the other it tends to be passed over.

I always come back to how our team played when Henrik was out for a while, especially the PP. It seemed so much more mobile and seemed to employ different options more. I also seem to remember Hansen still played well and contributed on the 1st line even without both twins.

Sadly though I think next season we must bring line experiments more under control. I think Willie knows who he wants and where now and that alone will lead to taking the pressure off the Twins and lead to more production from the other 3 lines.

The  Twins are the only reason Van was not drafting #1 this year. With 2ndline scoring support, better puck possession and more offense from the d-core they easily could have added 15 - 20 points to their ppg. It will be very interesting to see how well they do next year

You probably have good insightful points, but please.. paragraphs and commas wouldn't hurt here and there.

Nah, pretty much called the Sedins soft. They're still the leading scorers on our team and very good players. Two guys can't do it on their own though, and if something like having two forwards down low get a pass intercepted turns into a rush up the ice the other way (one of the points in the OP about why the Sedins are bad) turns you off, then you may want to look at where the other 3 skaters on the ice are.

These turnovers the Twins make in the O zone are why they need a winger like Hansen or Vrby with them.  Those two are extremely good at back pressure (more so Hansen, but Vrby was good at it too.)

Ah, I didn't bother reading the post because it was just too much at once, good thing I didn't read it.

F for your first post.

The Sedins are not and have never been the problem.  The Canucks do not have an adequate supporting cast to help the twins.  And other teams can put their best defenders on them, all the time.  Yet, they still put up the points.  Oh yes, don't forget Hank was hurt most of the year.  We have them for two more years (thx Gillis) so get used to it.  They are not going anywhere.
