I thought he had one of his better games of the year against the Coyotes. Looked like a solid 2nd pairing guy. Lots of hustle, closing on guys fast, getting shots through.

Agreed.  He's a solid dman with some good upside.  Love his fiestiness...did you seem him make that hit (on a player much bigger than him) where the guy goes flying over the boards?  Always nice to have a home town boy on the team.

Stetcher just seems to get in done on a consistent basis. I see him being a value piece down the line. Still so much more room for growth at his age, and he seems to work harder than almost anyone on the team. This is the kid who biked from east van to the rink every practice in his first year and apparently pushes himself to the point of vomit with a regularity that no longer surprises his teammates. I simply dont see how he doesnt continue to progress.

I think he ends up as a solid #4 dman. There may be some 40 point seasons down the line for the boy tony.

Our new team bull dog but with way more upside and consistency. Yup, he’s a keeper!

i'm still not sure how we're expected to believe that an NHL player with assumed skating ability and vision just runs into a dman and places his elbow to the head.

It's not like Manning had to protect himself as Stetcher had him in the trolly tracks. I don't want to put on my tinfoil hat but come on...

I dunno man, they were both looking in opposite directions of each other. I might need to see a different angle.

...it could have been on purpose. But many of the keyboard cowboy tough guys on here type like they would have done something about it and it gets old. Most would have averted their eyes like they were looking at something up in the stands.  I am all for Canucks standing up for each other but these little guys second guessing like they are tough is quite funny...and annoying.

With his assist tonight, he leads the Canucks defense in points with 6 points in 15 games. Obviously Edler's 5 points in 10 games is better, but Stech is on pace for 33 points as of now. Both he and Hutton are having bounce back years, which is huge for our chances of success.

Really like this kid, & hope he stays a Canuck for his career. That said, if Tryamkin returns, the RhD side might become a tight squeeze. I'd prefer we keep lots of size on the blueline.

Mentioned it before, but would really like to see them make Stecher into a D/RW hybrid, like Biega can play. Assure him a spot on the 23 man roster for the next number of yrs, then gradually get him used to playing some fwd minutes. As a local kid, he'd probably accept a modest(NTC) deal, if it were a long term commitment from the team.

Also ensures you have 7 skaters that can play D, on nights it seems the best plan.
