VegasCanuck
Didn't see anything yet, directly discussing this. This is crazy, I wonder how much this will effect his signing value. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/experts-steven-stamkos-long-way-go-recovery/

Gstank29
Sounds like the type of injury where it can easily be re-injuried by re-injuried I mean the affected area (his shoulder)
Nuxfanabroad
How does this affect Yzerman's image? He was criticized for St Louis' dealings; & also for stalling on Stammer's deal. Now he might be seen in a different light. OP, you might also ask whether this increases the likelihood of SS possibly staying?

Personally, anyway you look at it, if I'm a GM, do I want to tie up, roughly 10 million per season for 7 or 8 years, on someone who may not be able to perform at an elite level any longer. Big risk
elvis15
I swear I remember seeing this on CDC somewhere but can't find it in the Stamkos Blood Clot thread or the Stamkos Free Agent Rumours thread. Regardless, it was removed because it could be an issue with pinching on the vein causing the blood clot and apparently has very little risk afterwards so he should be fine and it shouldn't affect teams going after him. Big risk Agreed on this. Imagine Yzerman HAD signed him to about 10.5 x 7 yrs, & then this happened? Privately, ownership must be appreciating Y's patience in this regard. In a convoluted way, this might even bring Drouin back into TBay's picture.
