Provost
Lots to digest here. http://www.tsn.ca/radio/vancouver-1040-i-1410 The biggest hidden gem to me was the inference that we are going to go for Stamkos. He said we will go for a BIG piece on the UFA market and if we don't get that, we will go for two smaller pieces. To me that is Stamkos, or two of Eriksson/Boedker/Okposo

Could be Eriksson. Colorado seems like they're going to sign Boedker.

We have $10-13 million really to blow on the UFA market. One big piece for that money is certainly Stamkos as he is the only one that would eat up the majority of those dollars. Two smaller pieces are a couple of $6 million dollar guys, of which those are the three out there (plus Lucic who even if he is available probably isn't a fit). 250Integra
Perhaps Yandle on the back-end?
kloubek
I imagine that he's talking Stamkos, with 2 smaller pieces being one of Yandle or Goligoski, along with Eriksson.
TimberWolf
We're overpaying for Eriksson and that's all that'll happen.

Warhippy
I imagine if he's talking about Stamkos and adding $10-$13 million....he's obviously missing Gilman who would have told him we've also RFA's to qualify and prospects to sign. Nice dream but a Goligoski/Demers/Erikson/Staal/Hudler I can see at 1/4 million more than we'd expect them to cost

We have around $15+ total depending on the cap ceiling and what we do with Higgins. Taking away whatever raise Baertschi gets and whatever relief from Higgins... and add other related moves of trading some depth pieces or reassigning eligible guys to the AHL and we could have significantly more. I do doubt we end up getting Hamhuis signed though. His language changed dramatically after the deadline and was no longer talking about how he wants to stay here badly. He is now saying "if the money fits" and "since the deadline I have really opened my mind up to change"

Darius
I have 0 expectations for this team. Its hard to draw in impact free agents to a team that has taken a nose dive. Anything above obtaining an ex calgary flame player or Arthur Griffiths's toupee will be a pleasant surprise for me.
PhillipBlunt
While I do like Benning, it would be great if he knew how to pronounce Dan Hamhuis' last name. Hamhoose?

I don't think he needs Gilman to inform him of the obvious - that he has 26+ million in expiring UFA contracts the next two summers. Baertschi this year will command an extra million. Horvat, Hutton, Tryamkin won't exactly break the entire bank next year. They have plenty of flexibility. http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/VAN?year=2016
