[ Discussion ] Trading to pick in the 10-15 slot.

Recommended Posts

I feel we can get a great player at #5, but there is another stud for us at the 10-15 slot.

Do you think Benning should make a deal where we can pick at #5 and at the # 10-15 slot. I'm thinking that Benning would have to give up our 2nd round pick and a nice prospect to land that pick.

Logan Brown, Chychrun, Jake Bean should be in the mix.

Top 10 In My Opinion.. (IF nobody trades their pick)

1. Toronto Maple Leafs: C Auston Matthews, Zurich (Swiss) 6-2, 190 lbs

2. Winnipeg Jets:LW Patrik Laine, Tappara (Finland) 6-4, 200 lbs

3. Columbus Blue Jackets: RW Jesse Puljujarvi, RW, Karpat (Finland) 6-3, 198 lbs

4. Edmonton Oilers: D Olli Juolevi, D, London Knights (OHL) 6-2, 180

5. Vancouver Canucks: LW/C Pierre-Luc Dubois, Cape Breton, 6-3, 201

6. Calgary Flames: LW Matthew Tkachuk, London (OHL) 6-1, 188 lbs

7. Arizona Coyotes: LW Alexander Nylander, LW, Mississauga (OHL), 6-0, 172

8. Buffalo Sabres: Jakob Chychrun, D, Sarnia (OHL) 6-2, 194 lbs

9. Montreal Canadiens: C Logan Brown, C, Windsor (OHL) 6-6, 200 lbs

10. Colorado Avalanche: Logan Stanley, D, Windsor (OHL) 6-7, 210 lbs

I wouldn't mind trading down to Arizona's spot and pick up their 18th overall or 37th depending on the value determined between 2 spots. Mainly so they hop over Calgary to pick up Tkachuk (consolation local boy to market behind)

Grab BPA at 7th if Dubois gets past CGY then pick him, if not then pick Sergachev // Chychrun // Juolevi and at 18th that's one of those money Benning picks to grab a fallen Boeser type.

or with the 37th grab the giants Tyler Benson.

My Dream draft would be:

7th: Dubois // Sergechev

18th: Benning pick

33rd: Kyle Clague

2nd round via trade: Benson

3rd round: Ty Ronning

4th and below: Benning picks

just saw this on twitter:

Pretty good!

IMO just swap where Arizona picks Chychrun, Buffalo LOL's and grabs Nylander.

I like Sergachev.  He's a bit over hyped. But for good reason.  A fair description of him to me is a faster Alex Edler which makes him a touch more dynamic as well. Nobody should expect the next Chris Pronger for example. Pretty good BTW.

OK a faster Edler, also with a bit of a mean streak.

"That's real good!"

I like options dropping to 7th or 8th and getting an extra guy.

Yeah I think a physical force that actually likes to play physical is worlds different from Edler.

I think Arizona would be the most interested in getting our pick specifically if Edmonton is passing up on tkachuk and picking a dman. Anyways there is definitely options there lol

I do not know but I know this benning will try his best t get either another first round pick,or make a massive trade that will help us out which could be our 5th pick, but doubt that as he wants a top pick if he can and 5th is not to bad in this draft!

Trade Edler to Colorado for the 10th overall. Draft whoever is left between Juolevi, Chychrun, Sergechev, Bean.

Do ya think Colorado does it? Edler would sure help them make the playoffs next year if he doesnt get injured.

I think this is a good trade for Vancouver, and close enough to Vancouver that Mrs. Edler can live with it..............We have enough cap to sign another UFA dman for 3 to 4 years......with no "NO Trade" Clauses included....it makes a lot of sense for us, but the question is like you asked......Does Colorado do it?

I guess with Barrie going RFA this year and asking for a ransom..........maybe they would

I can see Benning working on grabbing another 1st rounder in the 10 to 15 range but the cost would be one of McCann Virtanan or Hutton and I'm not sure we would give those players up. I would rather trade down without giving up a prospect.

The only glaring mistake the Benning has done was the Forsling.

I would mind getting rid of Rodin for a package deal.
