The Canadian
To Canucks: Sam Reinhart To Sabres: 5th OA Gaunce Pros Sam is a BC boy Future Number 1 C Sabres already have Eichel as their number 1 C, so they might want a winger ( Gaunce, Tkachuk, Dubois) Cons Sam had an amazing year so Sabres might not trade him Thoughts? Guest
He had a great year. Plus, two #1 centres is a good problem to have
MeanSeanBean
I would make this trade, doubt buf would. Was praying we would trade up that draft to take him.
Nuxfanabroad
It's a pretty reasonable proposal..but the Sabs would likely ask for +.
Aspie
Considering this will give Buffalo 2 top 10 picks this year I can see something around that being worked although they will probably want a better prospect like McCann.
Phil_314
Not a bad idea, but if we offer that I'd rather get Ristolainen. This team needs an all-round big-minute stud on the back-end more IMO, when Bo is starting to look good and I'm confident Jared will take the next step in the next couple of seasons. Conversely, behind Tanev on our right D we have... pretty much nothing.

Laoag
Buffalo won't do it... But id throw the 5th overall and almost anyone for Reinhart. Anyone but demko and horvat. Sam is a special player.
Noble 6
I like this idea. Maybe a little bit more, as the Sabres have no real incentive to move him. He could fit very nicely behind Eichel down the middle long term, so we would have to pay a bit more to pry him away. They should be looking for help for the Playoffs though, so we can help them there: To BUF: 5th Overall Pick 2016 McCann Hansen 2017 3rd Round Pick To VAN: Reinhart It may seem like an overpayment, but that's a the value that a 2nd overall pick and potential 1C has. I would be all for a trade like that though. There are some truly gifted players, and Sam is one of them. You just can't teach the talent and ability he has. He would also be a good player to play with a guy like Virtanen moving forward. For next year, we have Henrik, Reinhart, Horvat and Sutter as our 4 centres. That's pretty amazing. If we sign a UFA winger to replace Hansen, we should be fine: Sedin - Sedin - Brouwer/UFA Baertschi - Reinhart - Virtanen Granlund - Horvat - Rodin Gaunce - Sutter - Etem Burrows, Grenier, Zalewski For the future, we get an key player who will likely develop into a 1C. Him and Horvat would be an amazing 1-2 punch as they are both smart, two-way players. We basically upgrade McCann to Reinhart in terms of the future. We would still be missing a LW in the top-6, but that can be filled much more easily in the future than a potential 1C: Baertschi - Reinhart - Virtanen ********* - Horvat - Boeser Granlund - Gaunce - Etem ********* - Cassels - Zhukenov

Reinhart played wing on Eichel's line through most of the second half of the season. Those 2 have excellent chemistry together. Not only would it sting the team as a whole if Reinhart were traded, it would also affect Eichel. MeanSeanBean
I think it would take more to get him, but if Benning thought it was possible I think he would go all out to obtain him. I heard he was gunning hard to trade up and draft him that year. I think it would take something like 5th, Hansen, Subban (possible 3rd 2017) For Sam Hansen has high trade value and would be perfect for an up n coming team as a veteran presence and to teach the kids about hardwork and grit. Subbans game may be better suited for the east and has had a great rookie year. I still think this trade is unlikely, but if there is a player that Buff wants to pick up in the top 5 along side their high pick they could pull the trigger. *Buzzsaw*
Sam Reinhardt has already proved himself. He has shown scoring, playmaking, defensive and most important, leadership skills. Why would Buffalo trade him for a big question mark? I'd love to see him on the Canucks roster, but we'd have to offer a lot more.
