SabreFan1
Well this is the junk drawer of the board so here goes.... I was talking about this with my brother a while back. Is anybody here, or does anybody know one of those kind of freaky people that always can tell you where North, South, East, and West is even if you put them in a room with no windows? I've noticed that a good number of hunters have that ability for whatever reason. What the he*l is up with that?! What is your secret! I MUST KNOW!! My sense of direction is terrible and I would get lost in a paper bag if someone put me in one and then spun me around. Fortunately my SUV has a digital compass so even if my integrated GPS steers me in the wrong direction, I can eventually find my own way back to somewhere familiar. Link to comment

thejazz97
It's not that hard IMO. I just kinda keep track of where I've been. Also, being outside in the daytime is pretty easy to tell the time. Link to comment

I used to play games with myself to see if I knew what time it was. I meant direction in my original post tho Link to comment

When the sun is heading east, you know that halfway through the day, that it is facing North and can go from there. Link to comment
Dral
does it count if you ask me where North is and 99% of the time I'll point exactly due south? Link to comment

Qwags
Living in Alberta, the mountains are always west, so I just go from there. Link to comment

You still need the time of day and the sun's position to figure out North and South whereas there are some people that don't even need that. Link to comment

Yup, grew up in Red Deer and now live in Vancouver. Using mountains as my guide has become pretty intuitive at this point. Link to comment

No. If you have one direction, you have them all. If the mountains are in the west, that's all you need. Link to comment

Not for me. I can only cross-reference direction with the sun. Before compasses in smartphones and built-in compasses in vehicles, and GPS, I was the king of u-turns, especially with nighttime driving. Link to comment
Nuxfanabroad
What about the lost ones who know their compass points, yet have no direction in life?! Link to comment
TimberWolf
I wouldn't know what direction I'm facing during a sunrise Link to comment
