ChampStatus
Australian Rules Football is coming to Burnaby. Burnaby is hosting Aus Rules Football Canadian National Championship. Me personally I have no idea what is going on when I watch an Aussie Rule game. But It looks real exciting with huge hits. Looking into it more Canada is ranked 12th in the world for Aussie Rule. Which to my surprise has a world cup every three years and Canada has finished 5th place in 2014. Aussie Rule's also claims to be canada's fastest growing sport. Has anyone else seen a game. 32,000 fans packed BC place to watch a Aussie Rules game in 87. Is anyone going to stop by and watch some of the event? Dral
Such a fun game, I played it quite a bit in school... but I don't think anyone really knows the rules... It's kind of like soccer meets rugby meets a drunk hockey fan...
ChampStatus
I have seen a few games on TV. It looks like everyone in the stands is just getting plastered and having a good time. I went to the Rugby 7 games in BC place and Everyone was dressed up in costumes and was a whole good time. But they are holding the Aussie rules matches at Burnaby Rugby Fields. There are located right behind Bill Copland there are no stands or seating. Which is kind of a bummer but Ill still try and go watch a match. milk and honey
I watched some games by far the most underrated sport I have seen. I agree with Dral it's a mix Soccer, Rugby, and a drunk 4th liner fighter. Incredible strength, pace, and probably the best thing about it, is that its very high scoring. It's almost like you had a link with the first two lines but that never happened. But I've seen my fair share of Aussie Rules, having watched a bit when it was on growing up, then following the Sydney team particularly after former-Canadian rugby international, Mike Pyke, signed a professional contract with them and became an important player. Tournament games will be played from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 21-22 at Burnaby Lakes Rugby Fields – 3760 Sperling Ave, Burnaby, BC. Its right behind Bill Copland Arena. I know the Rugby Club Bar is going to be packed. If you get there early I bet you will be able to get some good views from the bar there. http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2016/05/australian-rules-football-vancouver-canada/ https://www.facebook.com/burnabyeagles/
