Noble 6
The Flyers have one of the best defensive prospect pools in the league. They have Gostisbehere, Provorov, Sanheim, Morin and Hagg as young defensman. Looking ahead, they likely won't have enough cap space to keep 2 elite defensman and 3 other very good ones. They need elite forwards with top line potential. Tkachuk or Dubois would look very nice beside Giroux. To PHI: 5th Overall Pick 2016 Baertschi Brisebois To VAN: Provorov The Flyers get a potential top like forward that fits the "Broad-Street Bully" mold. Either of Dubois or Tkachuk give them an elite forward prospect that plays tough. The Canucks get a stud defensman to build around for the Horvat era. They give up a potential first line forward, but a defensman that is advancing in his development is our biggest priority right now. A defenseman drafted this year would fall behind our forward core due to age and development time. Getting a guy like Provorov solves that. He is one of the best young defensman not in the NHL, so it will take a lot to get him. We give up Brisebois as a replacement for the Flyers. Next, we make a trade with Dallas. They have a good young defensman in Honka that we should target. With Goligoski and Demers being UFA's this summer, they could use a replacement for one of them, as they wont have the cap space to sign them. With defense already being an issue for them, they cannot afford to take a major step back on the blue line. To DAL: Edler Grenier 2nd Round Pick 2016 To VAN: Honka The Stars get an effective replacement for Goligoski on a more cap-friendly contract. They can then focus on bringing back Demers to prevent their blue line from falling apart. It's most likely their last chance next year as contract situations will likely prevent them from adding more pieces in the future. They also get a forward on an entry level deal that can play in their lineup next year and relieve some cap pressure. They also get a pick to somewhat replace the prospect they lost. The Canucks get another key piece for the future blue line. Honka is a very strong, smart right-handed defensman that would fit in very well with what we have. Adding him to our right side along with Tanev long term sets us up very well in the future. He could step into the lineup as early as next year. Like Provorov, Honka already has spent some time being developed, meaning he is closer to making his impact in the NHL. We give up our best defensman, a piece which Dallas could use. Grenier is a young forward who likely won't get much of a look with Gaunce, Granlund, Zalewski, Etem, McCann and Virtanen all fighting for spots next year. We give up what will likely be a good pick, but we get a player who will likely be a better player than anyone we could pick in the second round. He is the Star's best defense prospect, so it will also take a lot to get him. Making these two moves sets us up very nicely on the back end moving forward. We have an elite defensman in Provorov to build around, and some other great supporting pieces. Defense would not be an issue at all in the future, and we could work to replace the forwards (which will be easier than finding defenseman later) through the draft. We have our future core set: Provorov- Tanev Hutton - Honka Tryamkin - Subban Pedan - Stetcher Olsen I think securing a core like that would be worth the price we give up. Blue Jay 22
Philly declines. Provorov > whoever is available at 5, and is the best D prospect in the entire league. Baer and Brisebois are not going to entice the Flyers enough to make them even think about it. I'm not sure why JB would do the 2nd deal. Yeah, Honka has potential, but Edler > Honka at this moment, so why are we the ones adding?
The Canadian
I would want Provorov, but I'd rather have Dubois. If we have to get Tkachuk then I would make this deal, but doubt Philly would. If they want to trade a dman they'd trade Morin or Sanheim
Fanuck
We lose that Phi trade, but win the Dal trade. Still say keep the 5th pick this year unless someone wants to overpay JB for it.
Top_Shelf
How exactly did the last deal go with Dallas turn out? We have a better chance signing a deal with Goligoski or Demers than pulling off a trade with Dallas.

He will not be moved unless it's an overpayment, but it is worth it to us. He is also a prospect that I don't think Edmonton would outbid us on. They already have Nurse and Klefbom on their left side, so adding him would not benefit them as much.
Warhippy
Wtf....so the 5th overall + top 6 winger +a top rw prospect for a d prospect and people think Philly loses that trade? I have watched Provorov in Brandon and he is quite good but so are Tkachuck and Dubois. Keep in mind, there aren't many teams that Bear would be a top 6 winger and Brisebois hasn't done much in the Q. Although to his defence, he hasn't had the luxury of playing on a strong team. Cuz it works on xbox makes it legit I suppose.

Starting in the D-zone against the opponents top scoring lines - on other teams that's a 3rd line. Also which top-6 winger does not even average 13:30 per game. DownUndaCanuck
Provorov may be as close to untouchable as they come, he's by far the best defensive prospect in the league right now. I'd have a stab at Sanheim or Morin though, two guys who have really fallen down the Philly depth chart due to other guys taking huge strides. Sanheim and Virtanen have played together in junior, he's a great puck moving defenceman, and worthy of a shot at the NHL level. 5th overall pick for Sanheim + 2nd or 3rd round pick We send Sanheim to the AHL and in a years time have Sanheim and Subban ready to challenge for NHL spots alongside Hutton and Tryamkin.
