On behalf of the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, I would like to thank David Savard and Dennis Yan for their short tenures in a Penguins jersey. It was tough to let go of Savard, as we had high hopes for him entering the season, but the opportunity to add a stud in Dustin Byfuglien was a no brainer. Our team has been slipping recently, and I have been in fierce negotiations with multiple teams trying to find ways to provide a spark. I am hopeful that Big Buff will be able to provide a significant boost to our offence in a talent laden Metro division.

It was hard to lose a playoff bound asset in Savard, but we are hoping that the Jets will be able to sneak into the playoffs led by Scheifele, Laine, and Byfuglien. Either way, I feel that our defence has significantly improved. I can't think of many teams that have a better top 3 than Letang, Byfuglien, and Martinez. The Penguins are still open to business and are in negotiations with multiple teams.

Lastly, I'd like to thank GM Somethingvery for the smooth and quick negotiations. Enjoy the weekend, folks!

Like excellent GM Watermelons alluded to, this was a tough trade given the high calibre players exchanged. Chicago gave up 'first page' fantasy stud Byfuglien, who is also one of only a couple of players who are donned with forward and defense position eligibility.

With Mr. Savard, the Blackhawks gained a younger top four defenseman on a RL Columbus team that is looking like they're really going to come through this year (not to minimize the play of our Puck Blue Jackets team). We are also pleased with the addition of forward Dennis Yan as we look to supplement our development program with some higher end forward talent.

Thanks to GM @Watermelons for his knowledgable discussions in this trade that have assisted both franchises. Commissioner@Master Mind - thanks to you again for being so quick with these transactions.

We're tickled pink to have juggled our goaltending so well the last 3 weeks.

We gave pistol hot Tuukka Rask a day off tonight and still had Chad Johnson come up with a big 10 points.

Which has kept us close, managed to hold off Nail, even closing in on some of these ^^ other  %^&#@! Metropol teams...  :frantic:

We've also closed, from 150 points back a few weeks ago, to only 15 points off @inane and Florida for the division lead.

Clearly @Watermelons was very displeased with dropping to 3rd... :P

It was rather tough being passed by two teams this past week. Through negotiations with several GM's I decided that it was time to have a mid-season retool. The Pens got off to a quick start but since then we've slowed down and the rest of the Metropolitan Division is catching up fast.

Pittsburgh would like to thank GM @maroe for tough, but fair, negotiations. While they lasted much longer than I anticipated, our organization feel that we were able to work out that a deal that works for both teams. Kreider and Holden join real life teammates, Nash, Miller, and Lunqdvist on the Penguins. I'm betting on the Rangers to make a deep run this year. On the contrary, having traded away two Blue Jackets in two days, I hope that they don't make a deep run...

I see Kreider as a key part in our top 6 for years to come. At 25 years of age, we think his best years are ahead of him and he's going to be a bargain at $4.500M cap hit for the next couple years. While I'm aren't sure about Holden's upside past this season, I believe that he's going to solidify our top 4 for the rest of the season, and hopefully the playoffs.

Unfortunately, acquiring good players means giving up good players in exchange. Brandon Dubinsky has long been one of my go-to fantasy assets and I was delighted to have the opportunity to trade for him last season. He's one of the most underrated fantasy assets across the league and is having yet another solid season. He's managed to produce at the same level as NHL stars like Giroux and Tavares over the last 3 years while coming at a cap hit of $5.850M. The other big piece in Mathew Barzal was tough to give up as well. Barzal is one of my favourite NHL prospects and I believe that he has a bright future in the NHL. However, with two of my fellow Metropolitan division rivals surpassing me this week and another two closing in fast, something had to be done to secure my playoff spot. Hopefully this transaction will make that happen. I'll need to do some solid drafting and hope for guys like Schmaltz and Theodore to pan out to make up for the young pieces I've given up. If that doesn't happen and we don't win, fans will probably come calling for my head...

Lastly, I'd like to thank commissioner @Master Mind for processing the trade so quickly.

Tough, tough trade to make. With all of the injuries to the team, we felt that we needed to make some changes to the team and perhaps consider looking towards future assets instead.

The Edmonton Oilers would like to thank GM @Watermelons for the very fair, but hardcore negotiations. We believe that this trade will benefit both teams in the long run. We would like to extend our warm welcome to Dubinsky and Barzal to the team. We see these two players as our future leaders to come. Along with Fleury and Barbashev, we see Barzal as the perfect fit to our team in the long-run.

With great assets coming in, there has to be an outflow as well. The Oilers thank Kreider and Holden for their services here in Edmonton. Not only did they carry the entire team on their back these few months, but they led by example through the fantasy point totals. These two very consistent players have never disappointed the city and we are very sad that they had to leave. We believe that they will continue their dominant season with the Penguins.

Lastly, thank you to Commissioner @Master Mind for processing this trade with extreme speed.

Dear Fellow GMs,

It is with a heavy heart that I must resign from my duties as the General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning effective immediately. Unfortunately other life commitments prevent me from putting any type of focus into this league. As a side note I have lost my passion for watching/caring about NHL hockey. I think it is pretty much impossible to compete without at least a certain degree of attention being paid to the going ons within the league. For me to continue as GM of the TBL would be unfair to this fine organization.

You may have heard rumours of GM Aladeen having carnal relations with the Wife of the Owner of the TBL, this is categorically and undeniably false and has no bearing on today's announcement. As are the rumours about the same with his daughter, mother and twin sisters.

I would like to relay a private message for the next GM of Tampa Bay so if you would all please respect the privacy and only the next GM should be reading the following:

Spoiler

Dear Next GM,

You have found yourself in a nest of vipers that smell and prey on weakness, only trade with these vultures if you are in a position of strength.

If you are ever in doubt of what to do, do the opposite of whatever it is somethingvery wants you to do.

Also all the rumours are true! That family is full of sloots, so have fun but be discreet.

Good Luck, you're gonna need it.

Sincerely,

Former GM Aladeen

Thanks guys it was a fun ride and gave me the experience of what Fantasy Sports is all about. Since I have no fantasy about running a team (Just kind of seems like another job where I don't get paid) I just don't think it's for me.

I wish each and everyone of you the best of luck this season (maybe not every single one of you) but definitely the vast majority of you fine gentlemen (or ladies if there are any - Yah right this is a total snausagefest :P )

Sincerely,

Former GM Aladeen.
