CDC Puck 2016/17

Florida Panthers at the about 30 game mark! Sitting in 1st place in the Atlantic Division, Florida has been pretty consistent and avoided any serious injuries to date (wood knocking). The report:

Great!

Derek Forbort has come out of nowhere and sits 3rd overall on my team in fpts!

Dzingel is providing great value at almost 100 fpts for under 1 million in cap.

Team hits--3rd overall.

Good!

Being led by Backstrom and Oshie up front at over 4.75 fppg for both with Lucic in the overall lead for points.

Vesey tied for the team lead with 10 goals--we weren't sure how he'd do but he's providing pretty consistent fpts.

Martin Jones is solid in net, another big win over Montreal tonight.

Team GWG, 5th with 17 but 10 behind 1st...

Meh!

Baertschi is inconsistent and, like the Canucks, pretty mediocre.

Hertl's injury has hurt, hopefully he's back sooner rather than later.

Bad!

For the price tag, Gorges is not producing.

Burmistrov has been a disappointment at under 1 fppg.

Team +/-, 21st overall at -16!

Florida is generally happy with the way things are going and excited that we have Perlini and Wood up front who are starting to see some games. The back end though is overflowing with talent--youngsters Zadorov, Zaitsev, Lindell, Forbort, Parayko and McIlrath are all putting up points on top of Chara, Phaneuf and Gudbranson. Olofsson and Reilly have also played a few games--the D corps is exciting in Florida!

We also have 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks in this years draft.

Next update at 60 games!

The Edmonton Oilers would like to thank GM @somethingvery for quick and fair negotiations. We finally made a deal after many many negotiations from the start of the season. We see this trade as beneficial to both teams and wish the best of luck to Chris as he joins a very very strong contending team. We would also like to take this time to welcome Lucas Johansen, Tanner Kero, and Peter Mueller to the club! We see Johansen as a big part of our future to come as he joins Haydn in our defensive prospect system. Tanner and Mueller strengthens the depth for the for the season and we cannot wait to see what they can bring to the club.

Thank you Commish @Master Mind for processing this quickly.

This is also the very last trade before AGM @Aladeen gets involved with everything. Once again, we welcome him to the big boys club ::D.

The Chicago Blackhawks welcome Chris to our team, and look for him to contribute leadership and grit.

We aren't feeling like we won this deal with clever GM @maroe, but he wore us down over the season enough where this deal got done :P. We are happy to provide a team in need of some top end depth with the players we gave up, and wish them luck with their new team where they will have a better shot at getting some future NHL playing time.

We also made this deal to open a roster spot for another transaction, because GM Somethingvery gets stir crazy without some sort of change every couple days...

Thanks again Commish @Master Mind, this league wouldnt be what it is without your and Commish @Captain Azzy's tireless efforts.

Tampa GM wallstreetamigo announced today that he is looking to hire an experienced fantasy hockey AGM to help the team with all aspects of management.

Basically looking for a right hand man to bounce things off of and give me a different perspective on our team, our direction, trade ideas, and especially scouting input.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in fantasy hockey with a strong eye for pro and amateur scouting. Heading into the draft we would like to take a team consensus approach to our selections as we have 9 picks in the upcoming draft including 5 of the first 93 picks currently.

I am willing to be patient and make sure I hire the right person. In all seriousness, my real life work and volunteer activities sometimes leave me scrambling for time so in a perfect world I can find someone who will be able to take the reigns during those times and not get raped by Somethingvery and the metro guys in trades lol.

WSA also said he is specifically looking to move Jason Garrison, Andy Greene, Derek Engelland, Mike Fisher, Craig Smith, Matt Moulson, Jannik Hansen, and Eddie Lack.

Tampa would like to get back younger comparable players, good prospects, and picks for these players. Preferably on playoff teams.

All reasonable deals for any player on our roster will be considered and attractive packages will be put together for the right top end younger players. Tampa will consider trading its 1st round picks but only in the right deal.

Young top prospects Curtis Lazar and Mikael Grigorenko along with top young players Adam Lowry and Justin Faulk could be made available for the right return.

We are specifically looking to acquire an elite level first line playoff center and an elite level #1 playoff defenseman if we can. Send any ideas to me by PM.

All trades with Somethingvery are preceded with wining and dining before any agreed-upon lovemaking occurs.

Columbus was desperate to add a solid playoff defender, especially since Myers is out long term. So we made a solid offer to rectify the situation. Given that this is Myers' 2nd long term injury in as many years, we didn't feel confident in counting on his production going forward. But if he regains form and stays healthy, and Tomek ever become anything, then Washington did really well here.

Thanks to @Jam126 for the quick negotiations.

Once in a while, I'm coaxed out of my shell by D-Mo to comment on players within our organization.

It appears as though Tyler Myers' injury is far worse than originally thought. So much so that Paul Maurice said the other day in reference to Myers, "He's come as far in his rehab that he can." Afterwards, Gary Lawless was saying that, "So he's 100% 'healthy' and he's not even skating yet. This is deeply concerning for a guy who's been injured multiple times and is now apparently finished with rehab. For a team that was looking to protect 4 forwards and 4 defensemen, it wouldn't be entirely unrealistic to see the Jets expose Myers."

So, Jeff Petry FTW!
