Chigago GM Somethingvery was seen leaving his office at 3am apparently working on some business into the wee hours of the morning and lending some credence to speculation that he has not been happy seeing his standings-lead erode amidst multiple Metro division improvement trades and has a desire to post big-worded run-on sentences.

Stay tuned for the fruits of this maniacal labour...

Yep, I was afraid that would happen.

I was finally gaining some ground. So much for that :(

Be thankful - Columbus almost made a similar deal.

But holy hell, that Washington pick has the best odds at 1st overall. And @somethingvery ADDED to it. That's cray-cray.

I felt that GM @Jam126 would likely keep the pick, and although Sergachev is an excellent prospect, one needed to pay up to attain GM @Drewismyname's Atkinson, who sold him at the right time (while he's white hot).

TML are pleased to welcome Sean Couturier back to the lineup tonight after missing just over a month to injury. The team has missed an estimated 150 man games to their starting lineup this year and are hopeful that the return of Couturier will mark a change of fortunes in the injury department. Jonathon Huberdeau remains the only player on injured reserve and there have been rumors that teams have been inquiring about the 1st line forward, who remains over a month away from returning to the lineup. Management is looking at any deal that will help them in the short term and are looking to bring in help with their defensive group.

small.png  To STL: Marc Methot, Maxim Letunov, Pascal Laberge, 2018 2nd round pick

small.png  To DAL: Teuvo Teravainen, Jake Gardiner

Would like to thank Marc for his service to the Stars organization and wish him the best as he continues his career with the St. Louis organization. It was also tough giving up 2 promising young talents in Maxim and Pascal. We wish both of them the best of luck as well with their new team as they join a collection of talented prospects in the St. Louis organization.

With Tyler Pitlick going down for the year and Sidney Crosby carrying the Nashville Predators on his back recently, we felt the time to make a move was now. This deal kills 2 birds with 1 stone as we have also long been searching for improvement on our blueline. We are excited to add 2 young and talented players in Teuvo and Jake. Both improve our depth in the present and look to have key roles in the future as well for our team.

Dallas Stars Present Roster:

Nikolaj Ehlers - Mikko Koivu - Nathan MacKinnon

Henrik Zetterberg - Jason Spezza - Viktor Arvidsson

David Perron - Nick Bjugstad - Teuvo Teravainen

Michael Ferland - Zemgus Girgensons - Josh Anderson

Calle Jarnkrok, Jesse Puljujarvi

Ryan McDonagh - M.E. Vlasic

Marco Scandella - Jake Gardiner

Mark Borowiecki - Brandon Davidson

Michal Rozsival

Antti Raanta

Anthony Stolarz

IR: Craig Anderson

It's time for Masters and Disasters (beat all the copycat names!) for the NY Rangers - December edition

Masters:

Mikael Granlund - Producing over 6 fppg, he's been a big part of the RL Wild's 12 game win streak. He doesn't take a night off.

Joel Edmondson - Joel was acquired for his defensive game, but after being promoted to the RL Blues top pair, he's chipping in offence too. 7 points in December, over 5 fppg.

Marcus Foligno - His hard work is paying off, as he's been promoted to the RL Sabres top line alongside Jack Eichel. He's been making the most of it, providing more offence while still getting into scraps and hitting everything that moves.

Disasters:

Nic Dowd - Reality finally hit, and he's been unable to sustain his great start. He's still producing at a reasonable pace, but a few more points wouldn't hurt.

Slater Koekkoek - He's been a healthy scratch at times, but when he has played, he's scoring under 1 fppg. Hopefully it's just a slump due to the injuries on his RL team.

Goaltending - Luongo has played well, but his RL team has been a mess, leading to a lack of wins. I was only able to use Niemi once this month, as every other time he played, so did Luongo. The matchups have been unfavourable.

Overall it's been a great month for the Rangers. The team leads the league in points in December, which has created some breathing room from all the other Metro teams.

Time for Heroes and Zeroes in the Month of December for the Dallas Stars:

Heroes:

Antti Raanta: Big shout out to AV for making this happen. With Lundquist struggling at times and fighting the flu bug this year, Raanta has calmly stepped up and look every bit of the natural starter for the Rangers this month. Not bad when your backup produces 114FP by the end of December. This comes at the perfect time as Dallas Starting netminder, Craig Anderson, takes a personal leave of absence to deal with matters at home.

Mikko Koivu: The RL Wild have been on a tear recently, and Koivu has been one of the leaders of the charge for them. By producing 4.33FP/G, he is by far the highest fantasy producing forward for the Dallas Stars.

Ryan McDonagh: 24pts in 37 games to go along with top notch defense places McDonagh as one of the highest fantasy producing Dmen in the league at a 4.74FP/G clip.

Zeroes:

Calle Jarnkrok: meh...

Zemgus Girgensons: mehher...

Nick Bjugstad: mehhest....

Overall: Good month. Things are looking good. Sitting 10th overall currently and firm grip of the 3rd spot in Central. Made 1 big trade at the end of the month so we will see how things play out these next couple of days/weeks.
