You are only allowed to protect players of your nationality.

You dont have to submit your list until the offseason I believe.

The day after the regular season ends teams can submit final lists - even up to the very last game some players will be earning eligibility.

We'll work out what the final deadline is over the coming weeks.

On behalf of General Manager @Canuck Surfer, the Boston Bruins are delighted to announce the re-signings of:

Jean-Gabriel Pageau - 4 years, $2.95m AAV

Andre Burakovsky - 2 years, $2.75m AAV

Mika Zibanejad - 6 years, $5.35m AAV

And the signing of:

Noah Rod - 3 years, $750k AAV

As always our respects to the players on working with us! And Captain Azzy as agent!!

Good choice of words Captain. We are indeed delighted to have a crew of strong young players in place to help drive the team further forward.

For the moment, lets talk up Pageau, who perhaps gets a little less press than the others?  A late round, undersized pick, Pageau in real life has won Middle and top 6 playing time by flat out, out competing more heralded players. He scored ove4 40 points in the NHL last year. And, at (if ?) 5'10'' he leads both his NHL team, and our Bruins in hits constantly competing for every puck.  He blocks shots, kills penalties, plays pivot & wings up and down the line up. Every team should have one! We are just as happy with all signings.

This leaves us with just some minor tweaks in cap & expansion compliance to work on.
