By the way, we've had a few teams ask questions on these two, so we'd like to clear the air on this - we're not trading Aho or Reinhart unless it's an absolute no-brainer (McDavid/Crosby/etc) coming back.

In the words of Brian Burke, it'll take "twenty first round picks."

thx guiz

Rumours out of Tampa are that they may consider moving their 2018 1st or a 2017 or 2018 2nd as part of a package deal to acquire a young dynsmic top pairing defenseman and a Top 6 quality young center. Tampa would consider moving our 2017 1st as well in a deal but it would take a very good young player coming back in whatever deal we make.

Tampa is also willing to listen to all reasonable offers on both Corey Crawford and Steve Mason. We are very happy with our goaltending but are willing to listen.

All playoff quality players are open to discussion although some will be more costly than others. We are looking for young roster players, good prospects, and picks in quality for quality type deals.

Tampa Bay GM wallstreetamigo threw a bucket of cold water on a story that Minnesota beat reporters were starting to spread around after the weekends high sticking incident involving newly acquired Gustav Nyquist.

When asked if the out of character frustration penalty had something to do with the talented winger being unhappy about the trade, WSA bristled at the notion and quickly laid the equivalent of a verbal bitch slap on the reporter.

"That has to be the dumbest thing any reporter has ever asked me, and trust me that's accomplishing something. It's right up there with stuff like, so will you make a move to improve your team? As if I will say, no I will only make deals that make us worse."

WSA gave his take on the trade and the incident.

"Gustav and I spoke after the trade and he is thrilled to be here. What happened is that a player kept whacking away at him and he lost it a little bit. We aren't sure what will happen with the Department of Player Safety but we support Gustav fully and will deal with supplemental discipline if we get that call. You don't ever want to see an incident like that, but we are thankful that the Wild player appears unhurt. This is not indicative of who Gustav is as a player and is an outlier based on his NHL history. Having said that, you reporters should avoid trying to make giant logic leaps like this non-story. Irresponsible journalism."

Stepping out of fantasy GM mode and into hockey fan mode, that stick by Nyquist is one of the most dangerous deliberate plays I have seen in a long time. He should have been kicked out of the game and certainly deserves a lengthy suspension imo. Could have taken his eye out.

I don't suppose there's a gif of it is there? I can't get Twitter videos to play.

Columbus had been gaining on 1st in the East, but in recent weeks the gap has been increasing again.

It's time for some motivation...

Ever since this was posted, CBJ has been slipping. Down to 5th now.

Please "motivate" your players again in April :P
