The only similarity between Vrbata and Datsyuk is that they both breathe oxygen. It's like saying Idi Amin is a poor man's Nelson Mandela.

LOL! Good comparison but honestly based on his first season with us, he was definitely a poor man's datsyuk. Based on last year I can't disagree with you.

His defensive game when he was on his game was extremely underrated... Nothing went right in his second year though. It was just poor asset management for us not to keep him with the twins. Even when he was playing with bones the previous year, they were clicking big time. Had sutter not gone down, things likely would have panned out differently. Although I don't think either sutter or Bo were ideal centers for him.

On one hand I want him to do well this year since he's on my team... On the other hand, if he does well it's bad for us since he'll be in our division.

Guess we'll see how things pan out... Another 20+ goal season wouldn't shock me though

Radim Vrbata in his prime would be to Pavel Datsyuk's worst season as Spongebob Squarepants is to the Oscars. Not worthy of being mentioned in the same breath.

Vrbata can put a puck in a net, big whoop. So can a great many players. What Vrbata can't do is:

- Play with intensity

- Lead a team

- Get his head down and work hard when things aren't going his way

- Make players around him better

- Make the all-star game year after year

- Dangle

- Lay claim to being one of the best NHL players of all time

- Win the respect of his team mates and opponents

- Leave his team in the lurch and have them say 'okay sir, whatever you say sir'

- Touch this

I could write a long and expansive list, but even in his wildest dreams, Radim Vrbata is only ever as good as Martin Rucinsky. Ever.

MM, SV and I are getting the last of the UFA offers polished off. It's the quiet part of the summer so if you have any RFAs to sign, or UFAs on the market you fancy, now's a good time to get offers in before silly season kicks in next month.

The commissioner team has decided to open up applications for becoming the GM of Las Vegas.

This will be a hire from our existing group of GM's, and we will look for someone to take over your old team.

Please PM Cap'n, SV, and myself if this interests you. Factors such as activity and track record will come into play if necessary.

On behalf of General Manager @thejazz97, the Arizona Coyotes are pleased to announce the signings of:

small.png Hudson Elynuik - 3 years, $650k AAV

small.png Thomas Di Pauli - 2 years, $700k AAV

Unless I'm mistaken, Elynuik was not picked by Arizona in the draft so this isn't an ELC and he is not eligible to be signed as a free agent...
