i feel like I'm the only Luca Sbisa fan, last year i went to the training camp , and he was the last player off the ICE ( was on there for about 30-45 mins) just trying to improve , he knows he has to get better and wants to improve his game, but putting him with players like bieksa (yes i know he is gone )and BARTKOWSKI   , give the guy a break, id like to see you going out there and trying to do what he does , day in day out,

i hope he gets to play with tryamkin next season , he deserves a way better D partner

now you guys can send all the hate you want towards me

Sbisa lacks confidence with the puck. Every other facet of the game, he's not bad at and excels in the physicality department but when he has the puck and is control of the puck, that's where he starts creating problems for himself and the team.

This might come out wrong, but..

I don't like his name...like it looks bad on paper..

I actually like him as a player, but on a depth chart I don't..

Maybe it's his reputation proceeding him. I hope this doesn't sound too weird.

Doesn't make any sense.  Plenty of reasons to dislike Sbisa, and you picked his name?  What?

I like Sbisa. I liked him before we traded for him and I still like him.

He can frustrate me because I feel he has everything in him to be a top 4 but it's his consistency that lets him down. I think if he can find a way to be more consistent, others will also start liking him.

Sbisa has improved his game quite noticeably over the last 2 seasons, and especially last year. Sure he still makes the odd mistake, but the absolute most telling part about the guy is that when he was hurt you could really see the hole he left in the lineup. That wasn't all due to poor depth and everyone else being injured, he fit nicely into the top 4 and didn't look that out of place.

If he's a #5/6 defenseman this year as a result of JB's acquisitions then he'll be one of the better #5/6 D around, and that's depth.

I like him. If he has to move on then his return will be more than a bucket of pucks. I'd like to see another season out of him though.

Our d will probably look something like this to start the season

Edler-Tanev

Hutton-Gudbranson

Sbisa-Tryamkin

Sbisa is really good when he's not getting top 4 minutes and paired with Tryamkin would make a very physical pairing. Wouldn't be very fun to play against.

Going to be nice having 3 big hitters on our back end now. 4 if you include Pedan.

Benning is building a team meant for the playoffs, especially in the West.

I like the look of our D now..but our forwards are pretty soft.

He is an above average top 6 D. Contract is a bit pricy but whatever, he's shown improvement since he has gotten here.

His play with the puck is what people hate. Inconsistent, in the bad way and he can(and does) handle it like a grenade. He has had some clutch moments though and when he's not handling the puck like a grenade he gets it out the zone.

His play without the puck is what he is good at. Yeah he can find himself in no mans land but so does everyone of our D at some extent greater(Weber Bart) or lesser(Edler Tanev.) Sbisa is one of the best defenseman at separating body from puck on our team.

He will probably be replaced when Tryamkin/Pedan show capable of handling NHL time and when we have other defenseman ready or close to making the jump.

Safe to say Sbisa is a stop gap for our young D. Contract wise it looks that way.

I'm sure he'll fix that once our team is closer to actually being contenders.

Atleast 3 of our future top 6 players will be tough and gritty. Horvat, Virtanen, PLD/Tkachuk,

A former first round bust, I admit I was a sbisa hater but he has improved this past season. Fact is, he still cant handle a puck, and whats with the taking 2 minutes behind the net to make a breakout pass? horrible. Sure he has his big hits, but he does not intimidate opponents like a gudbrandson would. At best he is a good 5th/6th d-man with limited minutes. He needs to play with more confidence and not bumble the puck, especially being a former 1st rounder and that contract he has.

D men give up the puck. It happens to every team, every night, and to any D man out there.

We put such high expectations on our D and goalies, you would thing they were all 10Mill a year players.

D generally take years to develop, be patient.

Dont blame Sbisa for his contract. The GM offered it, and Sbisa just grabbed the pen out of his hand faster then the GM could pull the paper away.
