I have to wonder if Larsen will even sign with the Canucks anymore when he sees all these D acquisitions by JB.

Maybe Larsen won't sign but the Canucks will still hold his rights so it Larsen wants into the NHL it's through Vcr direct or a trade and who knows maybe a player the Canucks open for expansion reasons

They have to be shopping someone else for all those signings. ..

Recoup those picks baby!

Lots of teams down the stretch realized how shallow their D depth is. Well now look at ours, drowning in defensemen. We need picks though so pony up.

Damn Jim has hustle, I may be mistaken, but I don't remember this many singings and moves done before the draft when GMMG was at the helm.

Because mg teams was almost always in the playoffs.

Depth, prototype jb player no offence bottom pairing.

Maybe Corrado bumped him?

On on a serious note, why is Benning signing/trading for defencemen that the Oilers and Leafs gave up on? Seems like the opposite way to improve the D

The Oilers didn't give up on Larsen he gave up on them.

As for Nilsson, it seems like he didn't have a place in the Leafs system so he went back to Sweden. Kind of like Peter Andersson did with us. He's merely a depth guy anyways. He'll be an upgrade over our previous depth players.

Depth is kinda weak looking after 5-6 spot. Lacks top 6 skill if there are injuries

We're going to need some surprises next season just like we did this season. We need one of Larsen, Stecher, or Pedan to come in and surprise.

I kind of doubt we're done addressing the D anyways.

Can someone make a thread on "Why did JB sign Nilsson", and "Pros / Cons to singing Nilsson" and "Should we package Nilsson to Tampa for Stamkos" and "Where do you see Nilsson fitting in next year" and "Now that we have Nilsson, is Edler expendable"?

:)

You forgot to add a thread about where this puts the status of Dan Hamhuis.

Leif Rohlin approves of this message.

Benning burying Subban, how is he suppose to become better than PK if we keep putting other players above him? #FreeSubban

Maybe Subban as great of a person he is, just may not be the right fit for the Western Conference.

If Subban is that good, he will rise above the other players and force his way onto the team. You don't hand a prospect a spot he can't earn.

Last year, Hutton came in and proved he deserved to make the team, and Benning made room for him. That's the way it has to work if you want to build a cup contender!

I was just being overdramatic for the sake of trying to complain about every move Benning makes.
