There will be something for everyone at the fair. I am looking froward to The Monkees, even though Mike Nesmith likely won't be there.

  • Saturday, August 20 – KiSS RADiO WHAM BAM featuring Hedley - don't kow much about them
  • Sunday, August 21 – Alan Doyle & The Beautiful Gypsies -huh?
  • Tuesday, August 23 – The Sheepdogs - lazy neo hippies?
  • Wednesday, August 24 – Steve Miller Band - solid musician with classic catchy songs
  • Thursday, August 25 – Simple Plan - huh?
  • Friday, August 26 – Olivia Newton-John - had some big hits in the 70s and 80s
  • Saturday, August 27 – FOREIGNER - Mick Jones and Lou Graham, decent 70's 80's band
  • Sunday, August 28 – Culture Club - Boy George can sing
  • Tuesday, August 30 – MONSTER TRUCK - who?
  • Wednesday, August 31 – A Tribe Called Red -eh?
  • Thursday, September 1 – Dru Hill with Sisqo, Nokio, Jazz & Tao, 20th Anniversary -what?
  • Friday, September 2 – Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo: We Live For Love Tour - a staple of the fair circuit
  • Saturday, September 3 – Tim Hicks - sounds country
  • Sunday, September 4 – The Monkees – Good Times: The 50th Anniversary Tour - great catalogue, and they wrote and played on far more songs than many realise
  • Monday, September 5 – Chris Isaak - good singer songwriter who has some nice albums and had a TV show filmed in Vancouver

Do any of these bands play bass solos? Can you dig it if they dont?

Saint Patrick, what an essential question!!! Peter Tork has been known to play bass from time to time for the Monkees (who have a song called Can You Dig It)!!

Saw Foreigner at the PNE (2 years ago?) and they were great. Lou Gramm wasn't with the band though, but his replacement nailed every song. Lot of big hits too.

Would like to see Benatar, because of the crush I had on her 30 years ago lol, but that'd be the only reason to see her. Great vocalist though.

Yes, Monster Truck would be the band I'd want to see this year.

Did you really NEED to post this?..did you really need to make us cry? Precious posters often tell me, love the Nux & don't ask why.

Hmmm, not sure I needed to, but the outpouring of love and support for this thread has been another joy!

I saw Steve Miller last year, also in an outdoor venue.  He was someone I really wanted to target, since he is one of my favorites and is getting on in years.  The show was awesome!  There was only one song that didn't quite sound the way I thought it would (think it was Abracadabra), but he is still very solid.  He tells a good story too, so there's some personal history and humor included.

If anyone here enjoys his music, I recommend seeing him.
