TheGuardian_
Counting the chickens before they hatch is the same as counting Boeser as being a Canuck AT THIS TIME. He hasn't signed a contract and might not, he doesn't have to, there are no guarantee's either way, so counting him as being on the team in the future is silly, it is more likely than not but right now you might as well name Stamkos or Ladd, they haven't signed a Canuck contract either. The Canucks drafted him and hold his rights for another year, then he very well could do the Vesey thing. I find it irritating that so many posters have the hope he signs as being a guarantee he signs, to me he could very well be some UFA the team signs in 2018. The Jimmy Vesey thing will weigh heavily on his decision, his favourite team is close to where he was born and they need his kind of scoring and are closer to a cup than the Canucks will be for 5 to 7 years yet. Don't get fooled with the mere uptick in scoring next year, some will be the result of the reduction of size of goalie equipment, this will not just be a team thing, it will be a league thing. Nucker 67
I thought about this too, especially after Caggiula signed with the Oilers. Maybe Boeser would also consider signing with the Oilers to play with his team mate? The only thing I'm counting on is his honour. He seems like a high character guy, who's mature and kind hearted. He was drafted by the Canucks and I'm hoping he honours that. Hey, at least we have Stecher to entice him?

ThaManbeast
You guys are nuts. Boeser won't want to be playing hockey for free another 3 years he'll sign and join us next year so he can be a millionaire.

HerrDrFunk
Yeah, yeah yeah...and everyone was saying the same thing about Demko right up until we signed him. Considering that Boeser was reportedly trying to get Caggiula to sign with us, I feel pretty safe in thinking he'll sign at the end of his next season. Raymond Luxury Yacht
Boeser is a Canuck. He is out "property" for the time being. If he doesn't sign, THEN he is not a Canuck. He'll sign.

miked1101
Well the sky is going to fall on us (just the Canucks and their fans) before he makes a decision anyways so we're all good.

kloubek
I think any of us who are informed realize he COULD up and decide to go elsewhere. Clearly that is a possibility, and we can only hope he has enough honour to not pull the Vesey stunt. His comments and general stand-up conduct would indicate to me he has no intention of playing elsewhere. I don't see any harm in tooling our team or imagining lineups with the expectation that he will eventually play for us. If it doesn't come to fruition then we worry about that at a later date. The fact is, at this point, we have no idea if his success and abilities will properly translate to the NHL as top 3 player anyway, so it's all a big question mark regardless. First of all, Boeser's totally a Canuck. Why else would he put on a jersey, come to the camps, and be in constant communication with our GM? Quote The Canucks drafted him and hold his rights for another year This is wrong, by the way. We have his rights for ~3 years. And even then Jim Benning and Brock Boeser both have stated they think another year would be good before signing him. Quote his favourite team is close to where he was born Well, relatively. He's stated his favourite team is the Canucks now. The Vesey thing doesn't happen all that often.
VegasCanuck
Its going to be another year of, "The Sky is falling....all our college prospects are going to sign with other teams...." This is just the first of what I expect will be 60 - 70 threads of people overreacting and going into full out panic mode over baseless theories. Very few college players go to free agency. Most stay with the team that drafted them.
