Ari - Van , Bost - Van (Proposals)

Recommended Posts

#1. Vancouver Trades 2016 - 5th OA ,Hansen, and Sbisa  to  Arizona for 2016 -7th OA and 2016 -20th OA

#2. Vancouver Trades Alex Edler + (maybe Gaunce or Subban)  to Boston for their 2016 -14th OA and 2016 -30th OA

Vancouver gives up 5th OA, Edler, Hansen and Sbisa

and

Vancouver gets 7th OA, 14th OA, 20th OA, and 30th OA

Edler is replaced in Free Agency..................Yandle, Demers, Campbell, Goligoski,

Hansen is replaced in Free Agency..............Oskospo, Ladd, Lucic, Eriksson

In unrelated signing.....Vancouver resigns Dan Hamhuis 2 yrs. @ 3.75 per yr.

7th OA...........Keller, Juolevi, Chychrun, Jost

14th...............Sergachev, McLeod, Brown, Bellows, Kunin, Fabbro, Bean

20th...............Fabbro, McAvoy, Girard, Rubisov, Tufte, Thompson

30th...............Johansen, Cholowski, Clague, Hajek, Benson, Debrincat,

This is the way to go, as far as I am concerned. There are no guarantees in the draft, not at #5 nor at 7, 14, 20. or 30th, but this would position us well in the future........Edler and Hansen can be replaced, even if it takes an over payment.....

The moving of the 5th If Benning wanted an offensive forward can be done at 7th, with Keller or Jost, both that have proven that on the internation stage...........even Sergachev who I have slated around the 14th could go as high as 7th

Remember this is a deep draft, and there will be gems all through that 1st round, the plum would be Benson, who has fallen down the list because of injury...............................

When you look at our prospect list, and look at who is who is playing in the AHL, there is not much there..........this puts us back on track quickly!

If we trade down from the 5th spot, I don't think we would have to add.

If Az covets a guy at 5, we would be getting the 7th and 20th for the 5th straight up.

Arizona will miss out on the diamond of the draft, their home town boy, Mathews but they could get runner up Tkachuk, the other home town boy. It would help them with marketing as well.

Going into the fantasy realm, Nucks get the BJ's pick (buy it) and then do the deal you suggest.

Once we start trading away roster players for medium picks (the type the usually take 3-4 years before they even play an NHL game) it gets harder and harder to sign big name free agents.  If Benning is unable to sign at least one top forward and dman in this scenario....the team will be worse than last year.

I am pretty sure the Canucks can buy a UFA or 2 and still sign Hamhuis if he isn't wanting the world.........

I am not sure about Yandle, but I am pretty sure you can buy Demers or Campbell for 6.5 ish..............even if we just signed  Campbell and Okposo/Ladd we would be much better than we were last year, especially with the addition of Gudbranson

Edler is replaced in Free Agency..................Yandle, Demers, Campbell, Goligoski,

Hansen is replaced in Free Agency..............Oskospo, Ladd, Lucic, Eriksson

The simple fact is we would have 4 -1st this year + a 3rd

Next year a 1st + more than likely 2 -2nds

We would be competitive and stocking our cupboards at the same time............I don't see the loss here

We would have less Dmen we have to protect at the expansion draft, one less forward that we are not attached to, that we can emotionally let go if taken at the expansion draft.............and we could simply replace UFA with UFA, if it went that way...............

You guys have to stop thinking that we can not replace place with UFA's.......................we have cap room, and we can create more if need be........

Look at the return of prospects............let's just pretend!

7th.......................Keller

14th.....................Sergachev/Bean

20th.....................McAvoy

30th.....................Benson

Alternative #1                                                                   Alternative #2

7th........................Jost                                         #7.............Chychrub/Juolevi

14th......................Bean/Fabbro                          #14............Jost/McLeod

20th......................Rubisov                                  #20............McAvoy/Tufle

30th......................Johansen                               #30............Cholowski/Debrincat

Either way......that goes along with Demko and Broeser

The point is there are some very good prospects here, and we did not get any weaker with the addition of the money hungry UFA's
