DeNiro
Robert haag maybe? Yea he would be a great addition. I'd love to see the Canucks add another young Swede into the system. Only question is does Philly need a center like Gaunce when they already have Schenn, Couturier, and Laughton down the middle?

asian player
I'd easily trade Jensen before trading Gaunce.
CANUCKS FTW!
Why would we trade Gaunce away? Richardson's contract is out after this season which will likely open the third line center spot for Horvat. Then, Gaunce can come in as our new fourth line center. I simply don't see Vey continuing as a center on this team when he can't win a face-off to save his life. H.Sedin Bonino Horvat Gaunce Now that's what you call depth. I see Cassels needing a year in the AHL before making the jump. Put Shinkaruk or Jensen on the wing and your third line will become a 2b line. Edited November 24, 2014 by CANUCKS FTW! UFCanuck
Well you could argue that Horvat, McCann, and Cassels are better options down the middle than Gaunce. If we could get a legit D-man on the brink like Brandon Gormley, then I would say yes. But I would rather we not trade Gaunce. Our lack of D depth shouldn't be solved mid season, it should be solved in the offseason through the draft and free agency. I don't really know how you can argue that Cassels and Mccann are better options down the middle.

I agree that we shouldn't trade Gaunce, but I don't see him as a C and neither have the last three coaches that he's played for. Also, Vey is only a rookie and still quite young. There are very very few rookie C's who are able to hold their own in the dot. With some further experience and summer training, he could at least be decent next year. Because they can both play 200 ft games, plus their offensive games appear to be much better than Gaunce's. There's a reason why Gaunce keeps getting shifted to left wing. If that makes sense.

SamJamIam
personally at this time i dont think they are. But one could definitely argue that they are. If that makes sense. I think the argument is more that they COULD be and is just being badly stated. I don't see why we wouldn't let Gaunce get a sniff this year and see if he's ready to slowly transition into the bigs. He got drafted a year after Jensen who only saw his call ups begin last year. Cassels and McCann are a ways out still. so there's plenty of time. He just may be one of those guys whos game transitions easily to any league or team. His stat line has been the same throughout his career and he is even keeping pace with some of our more offensive prospects despite receiving less ice time and less skilled linemates. His skating issues do not seem to be a problem so far in the pros. Hes passed every test we've asked him too. I dont see him failing in the bigs. Just a prediction. Im a fan of gaunce. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Or we could keep Gaunce and convert him to be an effective winger and wait til the draft to draft some dman.
luongotv
His size should complement Schroeder well. Imagine this scary kid line in 2 years time: Jensen - Gaunce - Kassian Not the line I would imagine in the present day haha. Things change

I'm not on the trade Guance bandwagon (kid's a stud IMO). But we need NHL ready D now AND prospects for the future. If management truly wants to keep us competitive the next couple years while all these impressive kids are still baking in Jr./AHL, they're going to need to get us some more legit top 4 D from somewhere.
