snizzle_
With his offence drying up as of late, I think his fight could really really light a fire under him. I don't think he fought alot in Junior, he had a very quiet demeanour to him, and maybe playing with this new edge will ignite a new BG.
StarGirl
Gaunce had a hokey fight tonight. It was his first hockey fight at the professional level. Really? How did it go?

God I hope all these high-character prospects pan out. It just seems like we've got so many stand-up guys who could at least wear an A at some point. A nasty Brendan Gaunce clocking in at 6'2" 210 lbs. to go along with his defensive awareness and 200' game would be a welcomed addition to the Canucks/Comets. Derp...
I'm fairly confident the Gaunce will be our Horvat of this year next year. Unless the depth forces him to another year in the AHL, which is not a bad thing at all. Good problem to have.
Guest Dasein
Kind of a nothing play that made Gaunce jump in (Musil looked like he was in disbelief that someone was gonna challenge him to a fight after that play), but I think he wanted to get some steam off his chest after going so long without scoring a goal. Hopefullly this gets him going.
messier's_elbow
Grenier doesn't remind me of Hansen at all really. Brendan Gaunce is more similar to Hansen though. Grenier is more similar to a Blake Wheeler type, stylistically. Hmm because they are 2 way forwards? Other then that I dont see a lot of a comparison. Gaunce is closer to a Hansen type than Grenier. Only reason I didn't pick someone else is because this is Brendan Gaunce talk. Trying to bring the conversation back to him. Spotted Zebra
How has his actual play been? My worry is that he is being groomed to become a fourth liner

The Lock
Have to say, I really like the guy's personality and I hope he does make it. I agree with other people that he's more likely destined for a bottom 6 role on the team. How has his actual play been? My worry is that he is being groomed to become a fourth liner The way our lines role these days, I think being groomed for the 4th line is not necessarily a bad idea. If you look at Horvat for example, he now has the defensive ability to be able to be in the lineup and he can now develop his skills in the actual NHL. Gaunce could follow suit if he can fill a similar need. If he makes the team, he can then get actual NHL experience and take it from there.
DownUndaCanuck
Horvat will replace Richardson nicely as the 3rd line center next season (15 minutes a game easily), and Gaunce should be ready to replace Matthias for 4th line center duties (9-10 minutes). Matthias and Richardson have been alright so far this season but can be easily replaced, and should be from within the organization. Plus, we'll save around 1.5M. Hopefully Jensen and Shinkaruk will be ready for full-time minutes by then, I'd love to see us try this: Sedin - Sedin - Vbrata Jensen - Bonino - Burrows Higgins - Horvat - Vey Shinkaruk - Gaunce - Hansen

I can agree with Gaunce but Shinkaruk needs skilled players to play with or in a scoring role in the NHL. Shinkaruk with Vey and Higgins could work but then too many young players and I don't think that will work especially with the inexperience, just going to be hell for Desjardins. Outsiders
I think the canucks shouldn't re-sign Matthais but should trade him at the deadline put Horvat on the 3rd and Gaunce as 4th line C/LW Richardson -Horvat- Kassian Dorsett-Gaunce-Vey anyone know if Gaunce is good in the draw?
