Gstank29
Gaunce has been playing the wing a fair bit, so to start next season (assuming we trade away Higgins), I think Gaunce will get a very good look at a bottom-6 winger position. Sedin - Sedin - Kassian X - Bonino - Vbrata X - Horvat - Hansen Dorsett - X - Burrows Those 3 spots are wide open for Jensen, Kenins, Baertschi, Vey, Shinkaruk or Gaunce. Cassels and McCann aren't going to jump straight into the NHL before doing their time in the AHL. If the kids aren't good enough, the veterans will get more ice time and this team will be pretty average. We NEED Gaunce and co. to step in and put up some offence. Vey and Baertschi are locks because they have to pass waivers to be sent down. Also Kenins should on the 4th line next year
DrChill
On a side Note Benning mentioned Gaunce as a physical, hard forchecker in his Interview earlier today That is exactly what we need, although he doesn't have much speed, wish he could gain a bit more like Bo did.Gaunce has been playing the wing a fair bit, so to start next season (assuming we trade away Higgins), I think Gaunce will get a very good look at a bottom-6 winger position. Vey and Baertschi both are waiver eligible so highly likely they are both with the team. Willy didn't sound like he thought sedins needed Vrbata on the wing so Kassian/burrows/Hansen it is. Sedin Sedin Kassian/Burrows Baertschi Bonino Vrbata Gaunce/Kenins Horvat Hansen Dorsett Vey Burrows/Kassian Is probably the start but I hope Horvat switches spots with Bonino. Love to see Baertschi Horvat Vrbata
aGENT
Sedin, Sedin, Kassian Baer, Bonino, Vrbata Burrows, Horvat, Hansen Higgins/Kenins, xxxx, Dorsett Vey as 13th There's basically 4C and the Higgins spot open (if Higgins gets moved) that would likely go to Kenins (if not, Kenins goes to Utica). But Virtanen, Gaunce etc could also nab that bottom 6 winger spot in that case and I think Virtanen will be given a GOOD look to see if he can stick. (We may need to shuffle Hansen or Dorsett to LW to accomodate a RW if one makes it). As for the 4C...I'm guessing they re-sign Richardson and worry about what to do with him if someone outplays him. Unless they think they can make an upgrade via UFA (unlikely and too risky IMO). He's good, will be cheap and fills a hole that doesn't look like anybody else is quite ready to fill yet. Piggy Bank
At 4C, they should try McCann for 9 games... If it does not work, then reassign him and call up Gaunce for 9. If that does not work, send him bavk and call up Cassels for 9 games. And if that doesnt work? Well... Bring vey off wing and make him 4C

Ronaldoescobar
I think Gaunce will be more of a Matthias type with a little less scoring touch when/if he hits the bigs.

hobart16
Gaunce played great last night. Best Comet on the ice. Got moved up to 1st line PP, although Grenier was injured.

Sean Monahan
He's an effective player even if he isn't flashy. This has been a very good first year in pros for him. As important as high-end skill can be and the impact it can have, there wasn't nearly enough play in the dirty areas for Vancouver against Calgary. Gaunce can score in front of the net and plays well down low. IMO he gets forgotten about a little bit because of higher-skill prospects like Shink, Baerschi, and Virtanen but personally I'm excited for a meat-and-potatoes kinda guy like Gaunce.
