If we can sign only one it’s easy to see which one goes. Bo is our captain! How in the heck can our captain not want to live in our city? Bye bye Bo. It's a non issue, Alf...many guys "go home" in the off season. Family, their children's grandparents. My Dad was a fisherman my entire young life...meant he was away for months at a time. It's ok to work away from home. Families adjust and let's face it, hockey players spend half their season on the road anyhow. We have airplanes now, Alf...means people can get across the country and it's not a big deal. Some people actually do it for fun.

I thought Bo and his wife were raising their family here, and were part of our community. How’s Bo going to fight for this city’s team (100%) when his family is not even part of it? Nope. This is bad news. Not good for the captain to not want to live here. Rumours of something wrong in our room too. Bo is a really good player, but he (his wife) doesn’t want to be part of our community then he should play elsewhere. Detroit might be a good spot. Short drive for him to his house and family. Bo’s wife have her little boy and a new born. She’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Bo will cut a very team friendly deal to stay here. This is his family’s home. Have you been a wife with new babies, Alf? I have. I went camping with a friend and her kid. I had a 3.5 year old a 5.5 week old baby. This is not 1959, women/mothers are capable of many things postpartum. We're strong multi taskers and your take is way off. (it's gonna be a lonnnng off season, isn't it?)

He’s our captain and doesn’t even live in our city. Sure I’m old (fashioned) but that just doesn’t seem right for a team captain. Miller and his family live here. 1

Sign Miller, who is here with his wife and kids, and dump BoHo. We could get a tidy return for Bo too. Hard to accept a guy who chooses to make his family home out of town like that. And he’s our captain? I didn’t know Bo lived in Ontario still. Maybe the room stuff centres around him because he (his wife) wants to live back east? TRADE THE TRAITOR! Vcr is strange that way. They believe every one should be in love with the city/province. Thankfully it doesn't suit every one. Any one remember Oregons Governor McCall who famously said "come and visit but don't forget where the return door is" I believe Mayor Phillips said some thing very similar) think if every one was in love with Vcr, what would be the cost of housing be for a starter. I worked away from home from the age of sixteen, generally a year at a time, and I can assure you it was always nice to get home. See the girl friend heck all my friends and of course my family. Have my favourite meals, visit the local hang outs, man nothing like it. About a week before you were scheduled to go home the excitment started. ckamo
Also, FWIW, that quote was from 2020 during the Edmonton Bubble. It was peak COVID-19 and maybe the Horvats decided it would be safer to have the baby near their families rather than have all the grandparents travel. Bo's wife is in Vancouver most of the time (at least her public socials indicate so). Pretty sure I read that the Sedins went back to Sweden in the offseason - so are we going to call them traitors too? IMO this is a non-issue - Bo's shown nothing but commitment to this team. Twins live here. Their wives raised their kids and worked here. Looks like Bo and his wife make their home here. That’s good to hear. Keep him. Miller makes his home here now too. Keep him. Where does Boeser call home?
-AJ-
I personally don't care where players make their homes. That's their personal lives and none of my business. If they are dedicated to the Canucks as a hockey team, I couldn't care less about where they choose to raise their families.

And I do care that our key guys, who we commit long term, big money deals are connected to our city. I see that connection to our city as important. Any one who has been seperated from family and friends understands how refreshing it is to get home. I don't make demands of other that I know are some thing I wouldn't enjoy myself. Living away from home, family and friends becomes a way of life. Many hockey players start when they need to move away as juniors and you can bet they all looked forward to going home and getting some of Mom's cooking

I really wish everyone would stop feeding the troll. I've got the senile old fur ball with his goofy schtick on ignore but with the feeding of the troll, his posts keep popping up. Maybe JR could trade this goofy old bugger to a KHL team, and he goes the way of Jake Virtanen to be never heard from again.
