mpt
Feel bad for the guy, he was promised Sedin time and played extremely well with them, then he loses his chance anyway because no one else could score. Good luck with another team.

Basically, by that bridge being burned --- regardless who's at fault --- JB is now tasked with finding a suitable legitimate, and likely more expensive top-6 replacement at that position. Either that, or throw Boeser to the wolves next season, if only to avoid the contract length offer it'll take to sign Okposo. Personally, I'm hoping he returns to form next season, and, with the right line mates --- at centre, particularly --- have no doubt he will. This season was just a horrible aberration that the coaching staff should share blame for by going away from what worked the year before.

Ojibwa72
Sad to say but it is time to cut ties. He will be picked up at a discount now by someone willing to take the chance.

Ted Lasso
It's a shame we couldn't get anything for this asset. I will expect better from JB for expiring UFA's going forward *coughMiller*

Where'd Luongo?
If he is willing to re-sign at a discount I'd give him one more chance with Sutter, if we can't get Okposo, Lucic or Eriksson.
16ToWin
I think he will be hard pressed to find a team willing to offer him any money, what he thinks is, worth his while.. I would be happy if he came back on a 2 yr deal worth 2,5 to prove he still has it.

But, that bridge was burned both ways, though. The Canucks aren't without fault on that one. I have no doubt he'll bounce back with another squad next season, and I'm not so sure that he's the one who needs to prove himself in the NHL next year nearly as much as Willie does. Only delusional CDC'rs who think he'll be without job opportunities next season believe that. Willie ends up back in the minors before that happens.
