(Disscusion) Malkin pittsburgh to vancouver

Recommended Posts

Thoughts on this are... No way in hell Pittsburgh would ever pick up the phone again if you called saying that was a serious offer. Malkin is a first line Franchise center on 24 teams in this league and you want to offer scraps. What is your logic in this offer? I would like to hear that before I say what I think it would take

Well they are wanting to move him for cap. Hansen has a way better cap. And then I was trying to pick a defencemen that could help there blue line. Adding a pick would be an idea. But those were my thoughts.

Unfortunately for us Canucks fans this is not the NHL video game series were we can make ridiculous trade proposals and hope they go through. I honestly don't think we have anything they would take. I have said before the Sedins with 50% retained straight up for Malkin, but I think their starting point would be Virt, Horvat, Bear +++

Just listining to sportsnet and kyprios saying they should trade Malkin at the end of the season. What do you all think we could trade them for Malkin. I would say Hansen and Sbisa, or Edler for Malkin would be terrific. What are your thoughts.

we'ld have to trade them the sedins to be able to afford him...that won't happen...cdc will send the higgins and burrows....

I'm friggin dying right now, triple facepalm... lulz.

Ok, I love the OPs enthusiasm, but the cold hard reality is GMJB would have to break the team to an extreme amount to land Malken.  Vancouver is just not in a position asset wise to entice Pittsburgh to dance.  We would have better luck landing Stamkos as FA then to trade for Malken.

I was just thinking that they don't want an expensive player back. They want someone they can utilise for cheap. Hense Hansen...then add what you need to get it done haha.

They might not want cap back, but they want elite talent. Hansen and Sbisa aren't that and wouldn't replace anything close to what Malkin brings even with the bonus of cap space (which isn't that much actually when you add the two players together).

If Pittsburgh did trade Malkin, they'd look for a top end player on a value contract, plus probably two 'A' prospects, plus a high pick. Think Gudbranson, Boeser, Brisebois and probably our 1st next year.

Well it's our cheap top line player and our top line top four defender. Sooo its not nobody but I get the point. And he's not there star, that's Crosby, and they have bonino to fill that void with kessel.

Why would Pit dismantle a Stanley Cup team? Why on earth would anybody want Sbisa's contract? He's a buy out candidate so your really offering Hansen for Malkin and that's about the worst offer I've ever heard in my entire life.

Well that's why I said or edler. And they want to move him so they can sign who they need to and free up space. They don't need him anymore with how well the hbk line has been playing. They have 24 ufas and rfas to sign and are over the cap hit next year. So freeing up his money to sign some of the rest of there players seems like an average move. He's not the same player he was a few years ago. He has less points then Crosby kesel and bonino this playoff run.  Throw in or fifth how does that work.

Please tell me you're just joking with this thread. No one could possibly be this delusional

LMAO......on the verge of the cup....Malkin is only worth Hansen....a utility bottom 6 player.....and Sbisa.....an overpaid 3rd pairing.  Maybe what we can also do is say Hansen to them on the phone, but on the contract write Higgins and just hope they don't notice till it's too late.

That probably ranks up there with Ballard, Raymond, and a first for just about anyone canucks fans had on their shopping lists.  I just don't see any combination of pieces working for a generational talent like Malkin that wouldn't leave the canucks worse off than if we just stood pat with what we had.

But trading Malkin does make sense on a multitude of levels for Pittsburgh, and I were them, I'd be talking to Toronto or Edmonton as soon as the finals were over.  Malkin for Draisatl or Malkin for Toronto's first/+ would make a lot of sense for the teams involved and would be regarded as a win win for both sides.   It would clear up cap, put some youth back in the lineup for Pittsburgh, and also allow them to still win now under Crosby.
