UTICANUCK
Canucks Brass will be in Utica this weekend, not sure if that includes Willie. Will get to see Subban and Pedan in game action. Hopefully they and Jake bring it tonight against Scranton-Wilkes-Barre and in tomorrow's 7th meeting of 12 vs. Syracuse. With brass in town you might see Demko get back-to-backs. Wednesday night's Comets home return was a yawner at times, but not-as-bad as the 28 minutes without a shot debacle by the Nucks last night (that's hard to do). Scoring is a problem for both teams and it may be time for some more trades. Part of the Baertschi move included a solid endorsement from his Junior coach - Travis Green, an assistant at the time. Perhaps there is a similar prospect like Brendan Leipsic or Nicolas Petan, who Green could re-energize for half-a-season enroute to becoming a solid contributor in the NHL. UTICANUCK
Oh great, the Blackhawks. Maybe looking to do another Gustav Forsling deal. How did that work out for us?

You realize Adam Clendening is in the NHL right now and outperforming Forsling, who is currently in the AHL I believe. Regardless, Sutter has proven to be a solid addition to this team, and I would do that trade again and again. I'm definitely not looking at our current D-core and saying "gee I wish we had Gustav Forsling still".
Beary Sweet
Comets trailing late in the 1st 2-0 vs the Penguins. Erixon and Archibald (not Darren) with the goals
DeNiro
Tom Sestito's revenge! He has two points so far in one period against the Comets.

Im kind of concerned its Pedan on the block for a team looking for some toughness with a young upside...I hope not but with the current state...I cant see Andrey playing on the Canucks...to many Biegas ahead of him. Maybe we've built Subban up enough to gain interest,. Kinda like Shinkarik was.. I like Pedan too much..
hobart16
Great game at the Aud tonight. The Van folks are in town so everybody had a lot of jump. Some good goaltending at both ends with maybe one that Bachman would like back. That first goal by WBS Archibald was a laser and that guy is quick. Subban played well tonight, and McEneny has come straight out of the woodwork and is helping us. But the guy who looked possessed was Virtanen. He was really good tonight, a physical presence. Outsiders
I follow the Comets on twitter and i keep seeing they list Labate as a scratch anyone know if he is hurt or if he is a healthy scratch would like to know. I thought he had a great pre season for us. Needs to get faster but overall liked his play. Wished he was playing and getting good minutes in utica. Maybe a question @UticaHockey can answer best? UTICANUCK
Labate still week-to-week with an upper-body and my guess it was from his last fight, which could mean a concussion or a tear in the upper arm or shoulder. It's a shame because he and Cassels have some chemistry, and he is a good screen on the power play. Comets played well last night but the Pens were a notch better. Syracuse tonight with all of their top players back from Tampa against a rusty Demko. Hoping for the best.

At the break Gustav has played in 26 NHL games, Clendenning 18. Gustav is 4 years younger, Each has a goal, Clendenning has a few more assists and is on the PP. When he was in Utica Clendenning was chippy on the ice and said to carry a similar attitude in the locker room and off the ice as well. Gustav is on the brink of being a regular with the Hawks, or with someone else. Without a doubt if he were in the Vancouver organization he would have forced some decisions as well. Actually Forsling has played 32 games and has a measly 4 points. Not too impressive for a puck mover on a highly skilled team. Clendening may be 4 years older but he's become a regular on a solid Rangers team and is on a 0.5 PPG pace. Who cares if he's chippy, the Canucks could use a bit more fiery players on their team, not more easy going Swedes. Either way people need to stop whining about losing Forsling. He's an average prospect that can easily be replaced in the future. I would say we've already replaced him with Stecher who's a better player anyways. stonecoldstevebernier
The Comets are about to get underway vs the Crunch at 4:00, with Demko making his first start since January 11th. The Comets are 4-2 vs Syracuse this season including that game back on the 11th. stonecoldstevebernier
Comets are down 2-0 early in the first period; first off a shorthanded 2-on-1 from Joel Vermin, and the second a one-timer from Comrie creeping in off the point. Not a great start despite the sharp looking jerseys.
stonecoldstevebernier
Bancks brings the Comets within 1! Takes a beautiful pass from Zalewski and wrists one top shelf from the left wing to make it 2-1 with around two minutes to go in the first. Only half-watching this one with the skills competition on now.
stonecoldstevebernier
Tie game! McEneny continues his hot streak with a shot that sneaks through everyone and beats Wilcox to make it 2-2. Assists to Grenier and Cassels.
