hmmm. I dont know why we would trade for Kane. Also dont know why we would trade Boeser.  Benning loves this kid

If you can justify those, that would be nice :D

I don't want to, but for some reason the OP does. I just gave their counter proposal.

Montreal has projected cap space of roughly $5.2m.  This deal sends $7.5M of cap to them and does very little to address their need for a top 6 scoring winger(Hansen is more of a utility top 9 guy) .  Easy pass for Montreal

I swear to God people get more delusional in this section by the day.

Just look at what the Sabres gave up to get him.  Bogo and Kasdorf were basically throw-ins.

Buff

Tyler Myers

Drew Stafford

2015 1st Round pick

Joel Armia

Brandon Lemieux (1st pick of 2nd round)

It's been said a million times but it bears repeating... Stop over valuing Canucks players and realize that the rest of the league has never nor will they ever feel the compulsion to do the Canucks any favours.

Can't see either Trevor or Jim wanting Kane and his reputation whether it's deserved or not.  Jim has spoken to many times about character, and unfortunately Kane isn't the name that comes to mind with respect to this quality trait.   The other one I'd do in a heartbeat.

No to Kane and his entitled attitude - doesn't fit whatsoever with JB's 'character' movement in this organization.  You don't bring in a character person like EG and then turn around and nullify that positive by bringing in a Kane imo.

OTOH, if you could somehow (highly doubtful) get the 9th OA for Edler/Hansen/leftovers I'd do that instantly.  But I highly doubt Bergevin considers this for a second before dismissing the idea.

Benning also "Loved" McCann, that lasted 1 nhl season for the 19 yr old rookie. Nobody is safe and in reality that is how it should be. If you can improve your team you make the move. GM position is a job, you arent doing your job if you arent constantly trying to improve your team

Not advocating for this trade to happen, just bringing up this point. JB traded away our most skilled young prospect that has played in the NHL, to address an area of need on our team.

Kane is exactly what this team does not need. Selfish, immature malcontent.

McCann was meh. I heard he had an entitled attitude which Benning didnt like.

And your telling me that Mcdavid isnt safe with the Oilers? He might not be safe in 20 years.. But like in this time, he is for sure safe.

Only way I see him not safe is if he refuses to sign his next contract at all costs
