winterhawks
Disapointed to see Nieto get places on waivers but glad to see him get an opportunity with amother team. His offensive game hasn't always been there but I thought his speed and defensive abilities were strong enough to hold a spot in San Jose's bottom six. You would think he has more value and promise then Haley but what do I know....

Player development is a slow process even among the elite and it is often forgotten that their brains have not finished developing yet. It impacts the intellectual and emotional responses of the individual, which in turn changes the decisions made the individual player. At least I know someone was listening! LOL Maybe next time you're on, you can talk to Don/BMac about taking the Crypt Keeper to task on his insistence that neither Baer or Granlund had to 'earn' their current roles and that they were gifted prime spots on the team, too EVERY damn pre game show he goes on about whichever flavour of the week (Virtanen, Rodin etc) isn't getting in to the lineup/a prime assignment and how some guys have to 'earn' spots and some seemingly don't. Yup, huge double standard Tony

Yup, huge double standard Tony I remember his role in the Hodgson ice-time controversy. Hank and Kesler were getting too much ice time - Cody deserved more! (A few months into his career). Sounds like Gallagher learned a lot from that gong show he sparked.

We've already invested a lot of money in Player Relations to ensure that our players are happy and that new players coming in feel as though they are taken care of. One way in which this is going to be followed through this season is to give specific players who could be targets for the trade deadline, specifically Jason Zucker, Mikko Koivu, Nick Holden, and Michael Grabner, some peace of mind. Trade deadline for our organization will come a little sooner, as we want players, either leaving or coming in, to have ample time to get their families acclimated to the new organization and city they may be joining. So, in saying this, none of our players will be traded after Sunday, January 8th. Deadline tomorrow night.
da.moose
Congratulations to fellow AHL rookies Daniel O'Regan and Devon Toews on being named AHL all stars this season. These two rookies along with JT Compher have stepped in for our affiliate squad in Dover and have become immediate leaders and impact players. We are very excited with regards to what the future holds for these young men.

Far, far less. I think some GMs lower down in the standings are looking to make up quick ground by asking for a lot, while giving very little; those at the top want a lot without giving much away. All that results in is fewer deals. What makes doing deals tough is the GMs who hoard the draft picks. No-one wants to trade players they drafted, and without picks moving, it makes balancing deals tricky. I'd have made a deal or two myself if I hadn't paid my 2017 1st to Bomba in exchange for moving Gaborik's contract. The previous GM made a real doozy there

oldnews
That was a sad sight to see Laine down like that after he seemed to get a head to head shot from McCabe. Damn - keep expecting Winnipeg to take the next step and there always seems to be something holding them back. Bad luck for @Tony Romo as well. Hope the young giant is ok.
