Is 10 games the maximum games a player can play in the AHL for his season not to count towards the expansion draft 2 year exemption?

I am not 110% clear on this, my understanding is 10 games is the threshold for pro hockey yes. @theminister if you can provide confirmation as there has been some confusion over what constitutes " pro hockey " as well as the games played threshold to be deemed eligible to be exposed for the Expansion Draft.

The Chicago Blackhawks have received trade inquiries into our playoff bound players, and although some have had some traction ultinately none have triggered a completed trade.

We are open to offers leading up to the deadline, with the starting points of the most common asked-about players listed below:

Chris "Crosby's renewed partner" Kunitz: good pick and good prospect (better the pick, lesser the prospect and vice versa). Can retain up to 50% of his salary.

Jared "Western Conference's best cup contender top pairing defenseman" Spurgeon: similar scoring, same age or younger defenseman not on a cup contending (where he is now) or even a playoff team plus a pickand/or prospect to make it worth my while to trade my #1 defenseman.

William "Torts' favorite" Karlsson: similar scoring, same age or younger player not on a deep run playoff team plus a pick and/or prospect.

Chicago is not desperate to sell off any of these players and would be completely fine carrying them into next season. For those who want a leg up on their competition come playoff time, my inbox is open; let the bidding begin :P

My understanding is the NHL is counting any season whwre a single game has been played. Thats why there is all the contention on players like Matt Murray, etc.

Things are looking pretty rough currently in Montreal, as despite being 12th overall in the league the team sits 9th in the East and are nearly 200 points behind Tampa and Ottawa for the final 2 spots. As we approach the deadline with multiple pending UFA's, the team is unsure whether to buy or sell, but are already beginning to look ahead to the summer and the expansion draft.

But the team will be willing to listen to things. Among the pending UFA's are current playoff-bound players are Rick Nash (Full-NTC), Sam Gagner, Lars EllerScottie Upshall and perhaps Thomas Griess and Jason Demers if the Islanders/Panthers continue their runs.

And though the price for Marcus Johansson would be high and he's not actively being shopped, he could be a solid playoff-bound piece for a contender...

I will provide the NHL'S exact wording later when I can locate it.

It is 10 games in NA, like as you would burn an ELC year, however players drafted from Europe that played in the AHL in their under 20 year old years do not count, as that is being equated to junior time.

A league leading 570 points this month, including contributions from all but one roster player has seen the Bolts jump from 10th to 8th in the league!

Would love to see us close the gap between the top tier teams a bit, but unlikely that'll happen honestly.
