Is 10 games the maximum games a player can play in the AHL for his season not to count towards the expansion draft 2 year exemption?

One thing to mention is in our league is ALL real life NHL player's status for the Expansion Draft is mirrored with the exception of NMC contracts which we will use CDCGML contracts.

So if your unsure about a specific player simply confirm his Rea life eligibility for exposure/exemption.

Not sure if this helps, but there is an expansion draft tool out there:

https://www.capfriendly.com/expansion-draft

only thing that is grey area is if you go straight off their list of whos eligible or not you will see as of now a lot is projections of who will or will not get to 40/70 thresholds. But overall very helpful.

Hi @greensman, Cpl days ago you asked for an updated depth chart. And a spread sheet review for any possible errors.  Here is our update, thanks!

Pavel Zacha's contract is the only correction I could spot being required.  His 3 yr contract is showing as expiring in 2017/18.  Last year we had him parked in junior, and also had the appropriate front office budget at that time to do so.  It should expire in 2018/19 please?  Let me know if I need to tag anyone else, cheers...

The Edmonton Oilers;

Jeff Skinner - Tyler Bozak - Michael Frolik
Carl Hagelin - Pavel Zacha - Matt Moulson
Melker Karlsson - Jacob Josefson - Brian Gionta
Ryan White - Alex Chiasson - Nikolai Kulemin
                       Stephen Gionta

                Oscar Klefbom - Justin Faulk
             Dennis Siedenberg - Andrej Sustr
John Michael Liles - Dan Hamhuis
               Matt Hunwick - Klas Dahlbeck

                              Pekka Rinne

                           Michael Neuvirth

Pretty good depth at every position is my observation. But lacking some top end fire power?

Yeah, it's going to be tough to know for sure on some guys until the end (or near to) of the season. But we're all largely in the same boat I suppose.

I assumed Esa Lindell was exempt because he only played 5 AHL games in 2014/15. Guess I am wrong....

Dallas burned a year of ELC that year - thus it's viewed as a year of professional.

IIRC - he was loaned back to Assat that year

Yes. That's correct.

I was looking into it yesterday to find out why Korpisalo is eligible to be selected when he only played 3 games in the AHL.

It's because he was over 19 and burned a year on his ELC making him technically a 3 year pro.

Conversely, despite the fact that William Nylander played 37 games in the AHL in the same year, it does not count because he was only 19 years old.

It's all very confusing.

All I know is that whomever is the LV GM is going to have a lot to choose from off my squad.

Decisions will have to be made.

Ben Hutton is exempt because he signed an ATO with the Utica Comets after signing his ELC; thus didn't count towards his eligibility

Do we have an idea of when the GM will be selected? I know IRL they have said deals will be made prior to the draft to prevent exposed players from being selected. It would be good to have a window like that with the new GM

We will be openly accepting applications at the end of the regular season.

QUESTION:

Does any members for oen remember being on msn messanger back in the day ? seemed to be 1/3 of the League on most the time and we were able to negotiate and chat in real time. I know other chat forums have come along but does anyone know of a better avenue to utilize or is anyone using the msn/outlook messanger by giving eachother our emails ?

Made for good times come deadline day and overall kept contact much more efficient.

Anyone ?

"What's App" may be the best solution for the GM's. It's free and easy and they do not have to be logged in as it's always on.

We can have a CDCGML group chat on What's App.

thoughts?

I used to regularly use MSN for trade talks. It seemed to be most active on deadline day and on draft day. MSN and skype became one service and a few GM's continued using skype for a little while. There is another messenging service we used at one point but I forget the name of it.

I would download What's App if other GM's used it?

I'd be down with trying Whats App. Though I do recall using MSN and liking the real-time nature of it, nowadays I'd be much more accessible via my phone.

As for the Habs, it sounds like some playoff-bound teams have made some inquiries into some playoff-bound players on the Habs, and that Marcus Johansson has been targeted by a few teams...
