I've never driven the big rigs, but I do talk to a lot of the drivers, down on the cat deck. Haven't met a jerk yet.

Trucker story for ya.

We are unloading the ship and a b train clay hauler won't start, the rig is parked in a spot that blocks off the entire starboard side of the car deck. I mean we are hooped, can't load anything on that side. I look out to the parking lot on shore and notice that an owner operator, working for City transfer, is out there with just his tractor. I talk to the mate, and get to go up and ask  if he can help us out somehow, inside of two minutes he has backed onto the ship, put chains on the disabled rig and pulled that B train clear of the choke point.

 Ship is now back in service, would have taken hours to get a tow unit big enough to do the job.
