If memory serves he took some stupid penalties last playoffs. If I'm betting I bet he takes more stupid penalties that cost his team this year. Overrated player surrounded by some talent. He was 19 years old in the NHL playoffs. You really gonna call a player off as a bust because in his rookie year he got 0 points in 4 playoff games give it a rest. Matthew Tkachuk will go on to do some great things and so will Olli Juolevi why does one player have to suck while the other is almighty! Both guys are gonna be great and Tkachuk while young will learn the importance of staying out of the box. He’s got time to learn. His style of play will be punishing for opposing teams in the playoffs just because he had a rough playoffs last year at 19 years old doesn’t make me think otherwise.

If your quoting his 48 points as a rookie I thought I'd add his postseason stats. That said. I can agree both players should go on to great careers. Of the two my pick for the Canucks would however be OJ.

Give me a name of the last Canucks rookie to come in at 19 years old and put up at least 48 points in their 1rst season. I don’t know why you’re trying so hard to say Tkachuk isn’t very good. On top of that you say be patient Juolevi is young and has so much more room for growth. They’re the same age it’s ignorant to think Tkachuk can’t add to his game either.

Burr with the twins, Sergachev with Tampa instead of Mont, Shultz in Pitt, etc. MT has benefited from A1 linemates from the get go. See tonight's assists. Credit to MT for running with it. I say he wouldn't put up those numbers on the Canucks. Plus in my opinion MT is a douche. I agree with JB and his emphasis on character and glad he passed on him. Glad we have OJ in the system. Again I'm not saying MT wont have a good career. Just glad it's not on the team I support. Edited January 1, 2018 by rekker 5

I would never want MT on a team I follow. Period. Not sure how many more ways you need to have it said. People who spear, slew foot and butt end are an embarrassment to the game. 1

I am not old enough to know all the Canucks but if they had anyone slew footing I would not have followed them. That is the most cowardly and dangerous thing you can do to another player. Almost always results in injury.

He missed that pass back to the point while at the top of the slot. Hes be out muscled multiple times all while his teammates are dominating the Danes. I feel lile you aren't even watching this game. And judging by your super defensive reaction to any criticism of his I think you feel the same way. And I know his coach feels the same way seeing that he's being used as a bottom 3 dman at this time. Can you give me one reason why you think he looks good this game? He made I decent play throwing a pick on a Danish player in the corner...woopy dooo. The rest of the finsare making the Danes look like Australia's pewee B team. It's funny you write this. Since I'm judging by your 'super aggressive' response, I think you're pretty biased against Juolevi. I'm not. Here's the facts: Juolevi's largely been invisible in this tournament. Even Ferraro, who's been praising Gadjovich AND Pettersson, has been critical of Juolevi's play. He says he may not be creative enough offensively. So he's doing an okay job defensively, but he needs to step up offensively. No argument from me there. But... the entire Finnish team is pretty slow compared to the US. Their offense is good but defense (which includes Juolevi) is suspect, along with goaltending. Heiskanen, the beloved 3rd overall pick, is looking like a pylon out there. It doesn't make Juolevi look better, but it shows you how weak the Finnish team actually is. Edited January 1, 2018 by Dazzle

Unless you think Chi,LA are all character players on those cup winners. Clearly we like differnt hockey.
