Juolevi’s shot chart after 40 minutes (darker blue dot is the goal):

He’s currently leading all skaters with 6 shots.

I think it's more accurate to say he's leading in shot attempts, because only two of those shots were actually on goal

Still great to see :)

Did anyone notice how much Juolevi played in the 3rd? I was following Jašek’s Extraliga game and was just checking the Liiga scoreboard periodically, so I didn’t notice if he was playing late into the game.

Just noticed that Olli finished with only around 12 minutes TOI.

TPS did go with 7 Ds, so that might have cut his icetime, but 12 minutes still seems a bit low given he’d scored and been pretty active early on.

Just hoping he wasn’t banged up and held out during the final 20.

Their league play has been equal? On what basis are you making that claim off of, points?

I follow this thread and read whatever reports I can find. Heis and OJ are virtually tied in points, so that is one metric, OJ has been reportedly improving his game after a rocky start to his season.  Heis has had alot

more exposure in Finland and as such I don’t follow Heis

that much and don’t really care who goes to the Olympics.

All I was saying that the speculation as to the selection of one over the other is reasonable.

Looked at the lineup at Juolevi was marked as 7th D, that's why he played only 12min, but still managed to get 6 shots. Too bad Liiga doesn't split playing minutes to PP, PK and 5:5, would be interesting to see if he was playing PP mainly.

Went to TPS discussion page and it looks like Willy D. was behind TPS bench, a.k.a veteran players played from 22-26min and Juolevi, although, as one of the guys called him, easily best offensive D tonight, was playing only 12min when TPS needed to score. Hopefully Sami can have some word with the coach, so Olli plays more.

Hoping it was only one game. TPS is second in Liiga, however they lost both games this week.

Why are they in a mini crisis?

Not sure.

But they’re definitely in a bit of a crisis now, after the first period. Already down 4-0 to JYP.

EDIT: maybe @Jasin23 meant the standings? TPS has lost quite a bit of ground to 1st place Kärpät at the top of the table, and Tappara and JYP are within striking distance of bumping TPS out of 2nd place. Definitely not looking as secure at the top of the Liiga standings compared to earlier this season.

Now the scoreboard reads JYP 6-1 TPS. Neither Juolevi nor Palmu figured in the goal for. Not sure how many minuses they each have from the goals against.

Side note: 17yo (2019 eligible) Anttoni Honka has an assist today for JYP and is currently sitting at 9 points in 15 games. Pretty close to what Heiskanen and Juolevi are producing in terms of points/game and probably the best D-1 production by a Liiga defenseman in a generation or two.
