Typically sheltering means avoiding matchups wherever possible, along with high ozone starts (avoiding dzone starts wherever possible) and having veteran partners (or linemates) to buffer the player's exposure. Yeah - I know what "typical" sheltering is, and he certainly isn't that. He is just having his minutes controlled, which isn't unexpected.
filthycanuck
I liked his game against the Flames, hes not as flashy as Chatfield, but looks like Juolevi is a safer player. Just a pretty basic game he showed the other night, was hardly caught off position. When Chatfield makes a mistake, its REALLY profound
Melbourne Canuck
I think this guy has really come on this year. He has looked mostly pretty assured back there and another decent game tonight. Should only get better with more game time IMO.

Popular Post BCNate
Juolevi is quietly looking very solid, adding more dimensions to his game, and getting more ice time. I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing 16-18 minutes per game by the end of the year. I get he has had a bumpy road to get to this point, but anyone who doesn't see this kid's top 4 potential isn;t paying attention. 8
Popular Post Sergei Shirokov
Was listening to Patterson and Drance's podcast, and they were already writing this guy off as an NHL defensemen at 22 years old and 9 NHL games. After closely watching him through 11 games, my observations: Overall solid play Good vision, passing and decision making with the puck, tends to make the smart solid plays Has a good wrist shot, but seems like kind of a weak slap shot Isn't afraid to jump up into the offensive zone, seems confident in doing it He's a good penalty killer Continues to get better and more confident every game Seems a bit slow, and skating could use improvement. makes the occassional rookie mistake 4

Dannydog
Future top 4 D-man with plenty of room to go from there. Watched this kid as a London knights fan he's just starting to show ya why he was chosen 5TH overall. 2
Popular Post -AJ-
I have a strong feeling Juolevi will be a combo between Edler and Tanev in his prime. Score maybe 30-35 points at most and have really solid defensive play with some physical side too. I think he can be a 2/3 in his best years. Not flashy, but valuable nonetheless. 3
Toyotasfan
OJ is the real deal, it’s a shame injuries have slowed his rise to the NHL , next year he’s going to be too good for the bottom pairing. 1 1

At what f***in point does the league take these slew foots into consideration of it being a dangerous play and start suspending this c-suckin POS. Hes good for at bare minimum, 1 slew foot a game. This does not belong in the game of hockey and is a dangerous play. I hope someone ends his career on a nice clean hit, before he ends someones career on a disgusting, gutless play. 5

Hope Satiar Shah, IMac and Murph talk about him once in one of the intermissions maybe Monday. 1
