Could you possibly push the dagger a little deeper... :)

Some people were saying that if we drafted Tkachuk, we probably won't have Petey.

Between Tkachuk and Petey, I prefer Petey.

Besides, he would have asked for a trade out of Vancouver as soon as possible.

Now, let's move on and forget about this.

Tkatchuk was clearly the player to pick.  Benning saw OJ play in one tournament and overruled his scouts to pick him. Would have happened the following draft too with Glass over Petey if not for Linden.

So, it was a terrible pick.

Now let’s move on and post no more about it.

Every NHL player has suffered injury, and they are all serious.  Even the muffins (like Princess Willian Nylander) suffer injuries like concussions.  Every NHL player is one more injury from having no career.

OJ has elite skill, size, and hockey smarts.  He will be fine, and play great.

Like most of your posts this aged like warm goat milk.

So is OJ an elite player or was the pick terrible?

Agree, who is Juolevi?

But with a lottery system we still could have been both Tkachuk and EP, even after that with adding Miller, EP and Hughes and Demko, we are always at the bottom of the standing for  top picks

Hmm, you are right. That was a weird year as all three picks went to teams with low odds, with Devils winning the lottery despite having the 5th best odds and Philly and Stars were too good to be winning the lottery that year.

If we were lucky enough to win one of the 3 picks, we still don't have Petey. I doubt Benning drafts Petey 1st overall or even 2nd overall or even 3rd... I guess we could have ended up with Makar instead of Petey if we won the lottery though since Benning seemed high on Makar.

But again, the odds were higher that we don't get a top 5 pick with Tkachuk.

And maybe this is our year. Like the Devils in 2017, we get the top pick.

Why take McCann when Kylington is available

Why take Boeser when Konecny is there

Why trade Bonino for Sutter

Why trade a 2nd for Baertschi

Oh we don't have a true #1 Dman we don't need offense!

God dam it Benning why the hell would you take the best Dman in the draft over the 5th ranked forward?!?!?

Typical CDC lol

Great pick Benning now trade Edler for Jost!

All of this aged terribly

So, you're saying if Gillis had only a half-assed drafting success instead of a complete smells like ass drafting success, we wouldn't have had Petey or Hughes?

Tkachuk wouldn't have likely affected our drafting of Petey. His 48 point rookie season wouldn't have moved the needle much, especially on a team whose highest scorer was Horvat at 52 points. Also likely he would have scored even less on that Vancouver roster. Certainly possible we could have lost out on Hughes, but then maybe we would have taken Dobson instead.

Lol why are people still mourning over the fact that we drafted a bust?  He's gone, move on, and if it helps, play GM Mode in an NHL console game and acquire one of Sergachev/ Chychrun/ McAvoy/ Tkachuk.  Other than that, let it go folks ;)

I feel like Juolevi and a few others  might not have been busts  if they developed outside of  utica

That’s not a feeling… It’s reality.

It’s sad for this franchise to been part of Utica with that shitty culture.
