I'm not super familiar with the math behind it though. It measures the Volume of oxygen utilized by the body over a unit of time (usually minutes). They use a relative scale that takes body weight into account which is the best way Imo. They get a score in mL/kg/min. Anything above 60 is considered elite, above 55 I would consider very good. The majority of NHL players should be in at least the high 50s I would imagine. Most Tour de France guys are in the 70s.
Baratheon
Does anyone have a different opinion of who we should take at 5 before and after the combine results? Just curious

It's not so much that he couldn't physically do the pullups or only managed one bench press.... it's makes me question his dedication to his craft if he knew these tests were coming and he did not get himself in good enough physical condition to at least look average in those events. His skill is undeniable... and according to reports he is a hard worker. I just have to wonder why as a top 10 pick and knowing that the combine is coming Casey should have been working with his personal trainer to make sure he didn't embarrass himself. Does anybody know if he is injured? And if he was injured then he should have skipped the combine.

Wasn't Nylander better stats wise in his draft year or in the better men's league, and they passed?

TheHitman
Looking at the combine results, Juuso Valimaki (player comparable: John Klingberg) probably was the most consistent guy across all of the tests. Would be a great pick at 17 if we have that pick.

Do not want Liljegren. I like Mittelstadt but him being a weakling doesn't really get my juices flowing... I say we do whatever it takes to get Vilardi. If we didn't interview Liljigren then Benning must be talking about Makar as the true PP guy they like. If Vilardi is gone then Makar could be our guy? This is what I'm thinking. If we can't get Vilardi I think we draft Makar.

Their heights are closer to 6'3" for Vesalainen and 6'0" for Heiskanen. http://thehockeywriters.com/2017-nhl-combine-heights-weights/ That's rather bizarre. That may or may not mean that the weights for that group are overstated as well. How useful. Nice to see that Buttman's maintaining the high quality of professionalism in the NHL. Not sure if you're being sarcastic but I don't know a lot of 18 year olds that can bench 160 without training. Especially after endurance testing. Especially after endurance testing. Im joking but Mittelstadt didn't strike me as being a bull in a China shop. He's a finesse guy and will not be a guy to go kamikaze in the corners. If you want a guy like that you draft Vilardi or Foote.
