I'm sorry he did what to his opponents!?!?!..... Who says that!?!?

Plus, those opponents were much lesser skilled, and likely much lighter high school kids.  Just "say no" to Casey and Finnegan

Wildly unlikely.

I could see them moving Gally soon though and Price within a couple years as well with Fucale coming up.

Maybe Simmonds and the 2nd OA for Price abd MTLs 1st this year.

Haha Price being moved is wildly unlikely. We're just spit balling right.

Remember what he did in the US program tho?

When playing against his peers, he lit it right up.

True.  I keep going back and forth on Casey.  What if he takes a full for years of college to develop?

Love to get Nico, but I think he's going first.  Is Patrick worth (likely) Tanev + five + 33?

If we could land Patrick, I don't think I'd give them Tanev, 5OA and 33OA, but I might go Tanev plus 33OA and 55OA. I think that would be pretty good return for Philly. I think Philly needs another top 4 D right now, more than they need a center.

Actually it isn't.  He's 30 in 2 months, Fucale isn't doing terrible at all.  The best time for MTL to move him is within the next 2 years.

If they can net a return of a Patrick/Hischier and a star/stud prospect for him, say Ghostisbehere, Prorov or whatever and Philly FINALLY closes that issue they've had in net since Hextall left (ya it's been that long) I think both teams seriously consider it

Certainly could happen, but when has a goalie ever got that kind of return?

Someone sell me on Tippett.  How he isn't Virtanen 2.0

Tell me how he's better than Tolvanen or Vesalainen using more than just points as your reasoning

And...questionable hockey sense.  I will be very disappointed if JB picks Tippett.

Is this just your speculation? Or is there legitimate talk about something of this magnitude happening? I feel like we may have heard something ya know.

Actually it very much is. Fucale isn't even close to making the NHL, he wasn't even in the AHL last season, and won't ever be as good as Price.

If Price is being traded I am expecting a Matthews level of player. You'll only get Price with a serious overpayment that would hurt a team tremendously. A deal like that won't ever happen therefore he isn't going anywhere, especially with extension talks already starting to begin.

Arguably Horvat would be a top 5 talent in this years draft possibly top 3.  I'd say Price is far and away better than Schneider at these points of their careers.  Add in their 1st round pick and it's more than fair value for a top prospect and the 2nd overall in a weak draft.

And if you're a broadstreet bullies fan you cannot discount how goaltending has cost them the last 20 years.

This is just my speculation, I feel Hischier will go 1st OA due to Patrick's health issues, leaving Philly a team in desperate need of goaltending the only possible player for the Habs since they interviewed him.

Won't ever be as good as price?  Huh...interesting.  I'd argue that's a bit short sighted myself.

You don't think the 2nd overall pick in a draft and a teams top prospect is solid return for the Habs in this instance?

Goalies are currently a dime a dozen, MAF arguably more successful due to his cup wins and former vezina nod (so what if he didn't win) is rumoured to be a possible expansion cast off.  At age 30, Price will not ever return a team a Matthews level prospect/player if he ever could

Anyone who thinks the Habs Canucks should trade Price Schneider/Luongo should lift there strong hand up and smack themselves in the face.

Hopefully that will knock the sense back into you.

Just saying, it happens and it doesn't always happen for the worst

I have actually asked this question twice now and NOBODY has actually answered it

I'd capably say we have a Tippett in Virtanen and that Vesalainen/Tolvanen project as better overall wingers simply based on their on ice IQ.

Short-sighted? It is a lot easier to argue that Fucale won't ever be as good as Price than it is to argue otherwise.

Nope not at all whatsoever.

Goalies as good as Price are not a dime a dozen. Goalies like Price are few and far between. When you combine base statistics and underlying numbers the only other goalie who comes even close to Price is Holtby who plays on a better team albeit is still a good goalie.

MAF is a good goalie that so happens to play on the leagues best team. Still doesn't compare to Price. Pens and Caps would probably make the playoffs without their top goalies meanwhile the Canadiens will and have $&!# the bed if Price is out for any period of time.

If he can't get a Matthews level player than he shouldn't be traded.

You didn't fix anything. Price>Luongo Price>Schneider. Price is more valuable to the Habs than Luongo and Schneider ever were for the Canucks and the way the Canucks handled their goaltending situation with Luo and Schneider was complete crap. Also you should still smack yourself in the face, twice for good measure.

To put it plainly the Habs are an average team and Price brings them up a couple levels. If Price was on a team like CHI or PIT then he would bring those teams up a couple levels despite them already being legit threats for the SC.
