I've watched the Bob Mackenzie draft special twice already. This needs be to be over with so I can have a life again.

Im worried about his no trade clause.that kicks in on July 1st. And Dallas is ripe.for the picking right now....they need a Tanev

I think someone on here posted that his NTC is only an 8team list. Pretty easy to work around should it come to it. The time to sell Tanev is only now IF we get offered enough value in return. It takes two to tango in a trade.

Considering they didn't even interview Liljegren, and Hieksanen isn't exactly the type of player that fits the need, it sounds like he's leaning towards Makar.  Sad sad day in canucks land.

Going to laugh if we pick Makar this year and decide to pick a forward instead of Hughes/Bovqist next year. Never mind, not going to laugh, just going to back to depression.

What if Vilardi turns into Getzlaf and Pettersson turns into Filatov. There's risk with every prospect. I do however think both these guys mentioned will have good careers. It'd be hard to pass on a playoff monster like Vilardi has the potential and traits to become but I am a really big Pettersson fan and would be okay with that pick as well. Anybody but Tippett! Come on draft be here already!

If they pass on Vilardi at 5 they are nuts.

Sounded more like he feels Liljegrin would full that hole...

That Dahlin kids a bloody freak. He might be the mcdavid of defensive prospects.

I would be phenomenally excited to land that kid on the 2018 draft. Atleast we know we will be in contention.

Yeah he's for sure a gen-talent on the back end..  And he just turned 17 in april, he's a 2000 baby.

and some how Svechnikov is in the running for that top pick, kid looks sick too, he put up the same ppg as Mittelstadt did in the USHL this year despite being a full 16 months younger.  And he did it consistently for 48 games this year where casey only did it for 24 games.   That just shows how good next years draft will be.

By "wild card", just spitballing here but perhaps he means if the first four picks are all centers, and all the ones they had the most interest in, that they then seriously consider a D?

Very odd they didn't interview him, but he looks like exactly the kinda guy we need -- wheels, drives the play, makes plays, can run the point, and hammer the slapper.  Perhaps they already interviewed him sufficiently earlier in the year to have enough of a read.  Would really rather they didn't take him at 5 though, and instead had a Tanev contingency plan to swap for a young C then take him in the pick swap-down.

Those four dmen for 2018 look great.  All we need to do is finish 31st to be sure to get one of them

So passing on a 17 year old who projects as a power centre, who assisted on 6 of his teams last 8 goals in the Memorial Cup should be passed on at 5 for who? Petterson?

Mittelstadt, Glass, Necas, Pettersson or Liljegrin. That's who.

I think  whether he  picks, who he in his mind,  a playmaking center or PP QB defenceman he's addressing a need. This all depend on what Dallas and Colorado does and how he ranks the prospects. As far as PP defenceman goes it does sound like Liljegren too could be the guy to fill that role.

Yeah your probably right, they are wildcards since any of them could got to one of the two teams ahead of us.

Tanev for Liljegren + Raddysh/Koekkeok would suffice in my opinion.
