Ilya Mikheyev
Great AHL stats. Vey and Jones gone. A center for Utica was necessary depth.

oldnews
Nice solid depth center option. Good faceoff guy, gritty, with some upside.

EmilyM
Oh weird, I actually signed him in NHL 16 and he turns into a really good 2-way player. Not that that has any bearing on what will happen in reality though :D

Gaudette Celly
From HF: Talent Analysis The younger brother of one-time Carolina defenseman prospect Stephane Chaput, he may be a bit more offensively savvy than his older sibling, but they share the ability to contribute at both ends of the ice. He has the ability to get lost in high traffic areas, which makes him dangerous in the offensive zone. On defense he relies on his speed and positioning to slow down attacking forwards rather than his physicality. Chaput shows a knack for sneaking through traffic and finding open ice. He is great in the face-off dot . Future Chaput has been one of the top forwards for new Columbus AHL affiliate Lake Erie in 2015-16 while seeing fourth-line minutes for the Blue Jackets in two brief call-ups. Now in his fourth pro season, he is still working to crack an NHL lineup on a permanent basis. His scoring skill suggests there is some potential but he is equally likely to spend the rest of his career as a player who shuttles between the NHL and the AHL. He would also likely command a big salary in Europe and that could be an option.

King Heffy
Nice emergency center depth for the 4th line should he be needed.
Ilya Mikheyev
Rather have a player like Chaput whose competing for NHL spot AND has proven NHL stats, than Blair Jones who had a 1 way contract and his NHL ability already known. Will be a go-to player for Travis Green.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Would be a nice Top line centre for utica. Utica really needs an overhaul of their offense and Chaput should be a good start with it. Like this deal
Lenny Jones
It's signings like these today which will be the most interesting when the Eriksson dust settles. How we build our depth for next year will be huge in how well we do. Still need some defense and centres.
Brad Marchand
Will likely go to Utica if he can't grab a bottom six spot out of camp. Useful contributor for Lake Erie during their Calder Cup run. Overall, not bad.
TheCammer
I'll buy that for a Dollar.
