Solid bottom 6 player. good depth up the middle for the AVs.

I'm not sure about this bottom six stuff, he had 44 points in 73 games and is still only 26. I feel like he is a late bloomer type that is capable to be a 50 point plus top 6 winger that has size.

Boo we missed out on another good player to the AVS.

They got some great steals today

My thoughts exactly! I think JB should've been on this guy. Meh.... see what else happens in the next few days

Softest big guy in the league, kills chemistry of teammates (on ice), only performs when it's too late, but is a shootout specialist

what's your source? If you have one it would be useful to know

I stand corrected, I definitely thought his numbers were lower than that. He may have the capability of producing in that 50-60 range in the right situation. Colorado is a really good fit for him.

What was Calgary's reasoning behind not giving this player a deal like this?

This is an odd one imo.

Not many 44 pt 26 year olds (with his situational use ie 45% ozone starts) going for 2.5 million.

This is my question also. When it was announced he would become a ufa I was pretty surprised. As I said I see him as a late bloomer, and as you noted his numbers are decent given his role. I also might add I disagree with Lucky Luciano when he called Joe soft.
