Top Scorer outside of 1st line?

Other than the Eriksson and the Twins, who do you think the top Canuck Scorer will be (assuming the roster stays the same) and how much will they get? Points? Assist? Goals? I personally think that Baertschi will have a very good year.

My Predictions are as follows

Top Goal Scorer - Baertschi - 25 G

Top Assists -  Sutter - 30 A

Top Point Scorer - Baertschi- 50 P

What do you guys predict?

Sutter's not a passer lol.  He's repeatedly been deemed a shoot-first guy with a strong two-way game, like Kes.

Anyways, I agree with the top goal scorer prediction, if Sven can put up 25 that's a major piece for the future.  Hansen should put up 20+ goals again, or close to it if he's on the 2nd and not with the Twins.  IMO Rodin's a serious wildcard for goals as well if he lines up with a strong play-maker (he scored a lot of goals in Brynas off one-timed feeds).  Assists and points probably are both Bo's to lose (Hutton could challenge him for assists if he gets first unit PP time on the blue-line).
Props to OP for starting a new topic that's not trade acquisition-related.

I don't see Sutter all of a sudden becoming a 68 point guy.  20 goals maybe but I'll be surprised if he surpasses 40 assists max.

Read carefully, and you will see 46 is actually points, I shoulda put it in a better sequenced order. Sutter's previous career high is 40 points in his sophomore year, but throughout his career he has been on bad teams or on a good team with bad line-mates. I see him getting his offence game back gradually once he gets to play with some decent line-mates here.

Sorry don't know how I missed that.  Completely agree on the 46 points.

Landeskog 28 goals ( I'm going out on a limb here , but Its rumored he's available , 23 , and lots of upside , let's hope JB doesnt give up too much to get him, likely Sbisa + a 2nd rounder and a prospect , Baertschi 26 goals , Horvat 22 goals , Sutter 20 goals , Rodin 17 goals

Horvat played alot of hard minutes last year. He played second line most of the year and alot of his points were from solo efforts until he found chemistry with Baer .  Playing with vrbata served as a handicap.

He's strong,  he's fast, he's smart and he's become seasoned on a team with poor defence.

Give bo a pylon and he will do better than playing with vrbata.

If he starts the year on the third line expect dominance.  I think he will carry that to the second line when  Sutter gets hurt again in January.

We dressed like 9 rookies last year, Willie started the year with major surgery, markstrom was growing and there were nights Noone showed up.

With the defensive improvements and a third season under his belt look to Bo when we start talking about our next Captain.

30 goals 35 assists. With a heart of gold.

Most of the projections are very optimistic, including 46 pts. for Sutter. It could happen but it would be significantly more than his previous career best of 40 pts. As others have pointed out, he might get 20 goals but he is not a playmaker.

I think the favorite for coming after the first line in scoring has to be Horvat and if he gets 20 goals and 45 pts, I think that would be good performance. And Baertschi is also a threat to get 20 goals and over 40 pts.

Hansen, no longer playing with the Sedins, is unlikely to hit 20 goals again and is likely to revert to about his numbers of the previous year -- maybe about 15 goals and a point total in the low 30s.

Adding up these numbers still does not give enough scoring for a good team. To have a good season the Canucks will need Rodin, Virtanen and/or Etem to make significant offensive contributions.

And the Canucks need more offense from the D. Edler needs to have a bounceback year and maybe Hutton continues to make progress and puts up some strong numbers.

You make a good point that Sutter is not a passer, but I think if he has linemates such as Baertschi, Rodin or Hansen he will inevitably rack up the assists because those guys are goal scorers. But yes technically you are right, he isnt really expected to get a ton of assists. I'm hoping he does though.

I'd be surprised if he manages to stay healthy / uninjured for half the season. I think he's gonna turn into the next David Booth.
