Who would JB pick if we stayed at the 3 spot at the draft?

If we picked at 3

We know the consensus top 3 was Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, and we also know how high JB was on PLD. The CBJ shocked the hockey world when they picked PLD over Puljujarvi. Would JB do the same in that situation? Just imagine the "FIRE JB" threads that would be out there. It's a tough choice but at the end of the day a top C is better than a top RW.

Its funny, there was so much conjecture before the draft took place, now that its been and gone, I am 100% satisfied with who they drafted, and am interested to see where the team goes next.

Juolevi sure does look like the real deal!

I was so high on Poojarvi that I would have rated him even better than Matthews or Lainer,  IMO. Over the last 2 years he has shown elite playmaking, vision and goalscoring. Great size and reach as well. I bet JB had him 3rd on his board, if we had that pick I think he would have gone with JP.

If he did not pick him, by now I trust JB at the draft table, seems to have a good eye for young talent. Quite happy with Joulevi after his WJC performance and recent junior success.

Dubuous isn't a top C.

why is sergachev randomly an option?

im pretty sure the list going into the draft was dubois #1 and juolevi #2 and i agree with it (puljujarvi if he somehow dropped that far)

Because CDC has been on 2 sides when it came to which Dman they preferred. Most debated was Juolevi or Sergachev. Luckily my 2 favorite teams got both.

We already know Benning would take Juolevi over Sergachev, but would CDC?

It is amazing how much we/Canucks have been screwed this year... we finished third last in the league and ended up picking fifth. Any other year we would have that awesome Fin on our team..

We can always blame the Oilers for winning too many first overall pick.   If they didn't win last year, then we'd not be having this discussion about how we are screwed out.

Pretty sure JB was already quoted saying there was a clear top 3 in this draft. So I am about 90% sure they would have chosen Puljujarvi.

Interesting fact though Colorado had Dubois 3rd over Puljujarvi so the Jackets weren't as crazy we think.

I love that the Canucks picked the best d-man in the draft. Juolevi is going to be unreal. But if they stayed at 3rd I would have expected JB to take Puljujarvi, the fact that Columbus picked Dubois over Puljujarvi still absolutely floors me.
