[Report] Martin Raymond joins Sens Coaching Staff

Recommended Posts

The Ottawa Senators added Martin Raymond to their coaching staff Friday, naming the 49-year-old an assistant coach.

Raymond worked with head coach Guy Boucher as an assistant coach during Boucher’s tenures with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Hamilton Bulldogs.

Most recently Raymond was head coach of the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL, leading the team to an overall record of 82-71-8.

“We’re very fortunate to add someone with Martin’s diverse skill set to complete our staff,” Boucher said in a team release. “He fits our desire to add an NHL-experienced voice and augments our group to the point where we feel comfortable with the ratio with which we’ll be able to provide individual direction to players. Given his existing familiarity with my team-oriented expectations, he’s the right choice to help in the implementation and growth of a culture that is conducive to success.”

Raymond joins a staff that includes associate coach Marc Crawford, assistant coach Rob Cookson, goaltending coach Pierre Groulx, and video coach Kristopher Young.

There happens to be a well known M. Raymond around the Canucks, and you knew you'd get people in the thread on that basis alone. Raymond without the M. would have been less suggestive, and the M. doesn't appear anywhere in the article you quoted, but you specifically added it anyway.

Don't do that.

EDIT: and it looks like b3. has already been here to remove the post I replied to and update the title for the OP.

Thanks, b3.

Now back to our regularly scheduled Martin Raymond programming...

A note for everyone:

There has been a high amount of "funny" misleading thread titles lately:

First offense will be a warning, second offense will be a complimentary week of non-paid holidays.
