Versteeg has always been one of my favorite players. When the Jets came back, the guy was a killer against them.

Regardless, he's always been one of my favs. Pretty sad when he can't get a worthwhile offer in the NHL.

Correct me if Im wrong but wouldn'the fit the bill as a gritty winger we could use? Am I missing something on Versteeg. ..but one would think he would be a perfect transitional piece to flip at the deadline...

If we didn't already have a logjam of tweeners, I'd take him here.  Super surprised he didn't get a contract.

Jezz I would of liked him as a Canuck... This is weird no NHL team wanted him.

Hmmm perhaps he has seen the lay of the land and doesn't want to go somewhere on a short NHL contract and end up getting traded or go to expansion  Vegas and change adresses 2 or 3 times in 2 years. He certainly bargains from a better position than if he were unsigned.

Crazy. Not only did I expect him to sign with an NHL team, but was anticipating well above league minimum (2-3 million dollar range). Gritty, second line player who just turned 30. Was 5th amongst forwards in Carolina for points in just 63 games played.
