DollarAndADream
Really? Did he just opt for Switzerland, or what? I would think many NHL teams would love his presence and give him a home. He's been traded a bunch over the last few years though.
ShakyWalton
Really surprised he didnt get an offer in the NHL.
mpt
Wow, didn't see that coming. I thought for sure he'd be one of the training camp tryouts and signing a deal very quickly after. He put up good numbers last year.
Monty
Versteeg has always been one of my favorite players. When the Jets came back, the guy was a killer against them. Regardless, he's always been one of my favs. Pretty sad when he can't get a worthwhile offer in the NHL.

canucklehead80
Really surprised no takers in the NHL. Wonder if he has an out-clause if he gets an offer closer to October.
Caboose
He'll be back in the NHL after expansion.
Vanisleryan
Correct me if Im wrong but wouldn'the fit the bill as a gritty winger we could use? Am I missing something on Versteeg. ..but one would think he would be a perfect transitional piece to flip at the deadline...

Super surprised he didn't get a contract.
ChuckNORRIS4Cup
Jezz I would of liked him as a Canuck... This is weird no NHL team wanted him.
VIC_CITY
I'll never forget that horrible rap he did at Chicago's stanley cup parade. What a dummy.
Ilya Mikheyev
Could've been a useful tweener + added competition on the Canucks wings for a year. Useful, feisty winger with winning pedigree. He'll be back I'm sure next year.

Hmmm perhaps he has seen the lay of the land and doesn't want to go somewhere on a short NHL contract and end up getting traded or go to expansion Vegas and change adresses 2 or 3 times in 2 years. He certainly bargains from a better position than if he were unsigned.
D-Money
He's been injured a lot. Maybe he wants an easy year to heal up before expansion?
canucklehead44
Crazy. Not only did I expect him to sign with an NHL team, but was anticipating well above league minimum (2-3 million dollar range). Gritty, second line player who just turned 30. Was 5th amongst forwards in Carolina for points in just 63 games played.
