Telus is evil, I had my first cell with them, it was a cluster&^@# of a situation; I have used Bell for years and as long as my bill has been paid on time, I have never had any complaints, support is quick to respond if there is a question - and the few times I have been late I haven't noticed any insane charges or anything like that; Speed has always been acceptable or better - aside from areas like Walmart where they will block service in the store; I've never encountered many issues indoors.

Was on Rogers for probably close to 20 years until my latest phone renewal and they wouldn't do a THING to retain me.

Been on Virgin (Bell) since last fall and they've been great so far. Friendly customer service as well.

But I'm with @Shift-4, they're all @#$%'ing evil @#$%'s

It's all about the lesser of three evils.  I hate Bell the most, was with them for 3 years and not only did they try and screw me over with 2 deactivation fees - they also erased my number before I could buy another sim card to switch carriers.  Their customer service was atrocious.  Telus I simply hate because of their commercials, in fact I switch to Shaw for tv/internet/phone and told telus it was those stupid commercials that prompted me to do so.  Yet to use Rogers, I should get a new phone soon and if I do I will probably go on a 1 or 2 year plan with them.  Right now I am on Chatr, I have yet to have a drop call though I don't talk on my phone much.  Much better service than Wind atleast.

Weird. My mum has pleaded a few times before "long time customer blah blah" for free upgrades, or whatever, getting deals.

Yeah I've always had good experiences with Roger's customer retention department until this last time. Hence why I was with them for ~20 years.

In fact I'd go as far as to say that the previous round of upgrading through Rogers I had one of my best customer service experiences regardless of product/company. The guy that helped me couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and got me a great package/price.

That was ~2013 though. 2015 was a whole other ball game. They offered me worse packages/prices for less service than I already had, little in the way of credits and they seemed powerless to actually make any effort on retaining customers.

So I took my business elsewhere.

Companies don't do shizza for me.  Either people lie about all the deals they get or they just look at my name and say 'not this clown.' My bartering skills need some work I suppose.  What I really want with my next phone is a cool number lol.

For Mobile or Home Internet?

I have Telus for mobile. Definitely beats any reception out there (only network to get reception at my work) and Bell for home services (Telus doesn't offer it here and I hate Rogers).

Private companies use cell phone jammers in Canada?!  In the US, it's even illegal for the local and state police to use those things.

I have used all 3 in the past. The truth is, no matter who you choose to go with, there will be a moment or two where you will be angry.

Sometimes, they offer different deals on phones, if you are buying a new phone, so maybe choose the one that offers the best deal? Or the best monthly fee vs value?

Switching to a new provider.... I went from WIND to Telus and I'm not too pleased. Low bars, no connection inside buildings....

What one do you guys use and how is your speed and connectivity?

I use Rogers and am very happy with them. I get very fast LTE download speed and great reception with Rogers. Plus, they are a Canucks/NHL sponsor which is nice because Rogers users get exclusive promos through the Canucks. I also have NHL Gamecentre Live free through my cell plan so I can watch all the games on any of my devices. I watch the Canucks games through the app on my PS4 so I don't have to upgrade my cable package to get all the Sportsnet channels.

I had Telus but switched to Koodo because it was cheaper for my phone, but still have telus internet. Little did I know Koodo is owned by Telus or the same company that owns Telus...so they're still getting my money haha  and @Tre Mac my last 4 numbers spell out my name 5953 (Kyle) so i always tell people its 555-Kyle haha

I've had Fido for 10 or so years.

If you can get over the French people working their call centre, they are awesome.

At the same time, most the companies offer the same plans and phones as the next.

The only people I've seen having troubles with their phone companies are people who don't want to pay on time.

All the 'big 3' have roughly the same service, costs, etc....

you need to go to the small company if you want any sort of fancy price, but you need to sacrifice service quality.

I've been with Telus of 15 years.  Had a few issues along the way but you're gonna get that with any provider.  Whichever provided you use, if you've been with them long term, ask to speak to loya;ty.  They;ll hook you up with much cheaper rates than what they say they offer.

Why'd you leave wind?

i've been with wind since day 1, but i'm thinking of switching to bell. wind has gotten better over the years, they've been great to me but my social network has gotten a lot larger and wind can only cover so much of my needs now
